Quintero Golf Club
About Quintero Golf Club
Quintero Golf Club, located about an hour northwest of Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport, is one of the most scenic golf courses in the Valley of the Sun. While generally a daily-fee course, it does have a small handful of casita rentals for stay-and-play packages. These casitas, located within the community's Entrada properties, feature two large bedrooms with full bathrooms each, and a private patio with the option for outdoor dining. The executive Loft has a large living area with pool table. Guests have access to the Quintero pool, jacuzzi and grilling area. Located in the Hieroglyphic Mountains, Quintero Golf Club was designed by Rees Jones and is a popular pick for the best golf course in the valley. Within 15 minutes is the Lake Pleasant Marina and Scorpion Bay Marina.Facts

Great Course
Its a great course, 30 mons fron Phx North, but worth the drive, I will play it again in the future, the staff was really friendly, everything was great.
Amazing
It’s a top course in the state for a reason and definitely lived up to the hype. I’ll be back.
Greens
Not Troon quality greens. Resembled cheap public course with ball marks everywhere.
Worth the drive. A must play in the Phoenix area. Bring your A game
I almost didn't play this course based on a recent review. I don't know what course that reviewer played but it wasn't Quintero. Course is in great shape for the Phoenix summer. Yes, there were a few brown spots on some of the fairways. It is the summer in the desert! My guess is that the previous reviewer shot 10 over his handicap and wanted to punish the course for a very difficult, but fair, layout. Three of the best par 3 holes in the valley. Plenty of tee box choices based on your game. True desert golf. Only a couple of houses in view. Play it before it goes private. You will not be disappointed, unless of course you play from the wrong tee box.
Almost every hole has a forced carry so it you're not a below 90s golfer the course will eat you up. Bring extra golf balls. It is hard to go around Quintero without a ball or two or a few in the desert.
This course very difficult however is great condition
Course was great to play on even on a day of 109 degrees greens were well maintained staff was very attentive can’t wait too play again
Dont believe the Negative Comments.
First of all, I play this course roughly twice a year in the summer. (Can't afford winter rates) After reading some recent reviews are group was exspecting the course to be in rough shape, NOT TRUE! The greens were punched roughly 3 weeks ago, BUT they looked great and rolled true. (We all thought 13 on the stimp) Some Divots on the Greens but that's due to Lazy Golfers and not the Greens Keeper fault. Some browning in the Fairways (Its 105 Deg, thats exspected) Were the bunkers lacking a little sand, sure, but that would be our only complaint and thats reaching. We Teed off at 0832 and pace of play was Good. You will lose some balls in the desert, leave them and hit another. Looking for them is what slows play down. I've played alot of courses around this side recently, Copper Canyon (Which I Love) Trilogy, Verrado, Falcon Dunes (Luke AFB course which is our Home Course) and for the $104 we paid (Including Tax) This was well worth the Money. Make no mistake, if you struggle from the Tee you will have a LONG DAY! I'm already Looking Forward to Coming Back!!! 11.7 Hcp
Tough track
If you can’t break 85 at your home course, do not play here. This course will tear you up! Such your ego to the side and go play an executive course. You will lose a dozen golf balls by the end of the round. There should be a mandatory Teebox location for your handicap.
Plugged and dud
Greens were just plugged, but in all it was just terrible slices dices and everything fairways were dead in areas. No sand in the sand traps hard pan. Very disappointing probably not go back for the price they want.
Course layout is great and staff is friendly and helpful.
Awesome
Awesome hidden gem of a course. Great views and challenging for all levels. Loved the course and the atmosphere as well as the amenities. Friendly staff and I will definitely be back.
Great course, although they had just aerated the greens. Definitely enjoy the summer pricing. It’s definitely a must play course!
Spectacular Course-MUST PLAY for Phoenix
Quite simply this is one of the most beautiful courses I have ever had the pleasure to play. It helped that the area had enough rain this year and recently to cause basically the entire desert around the course to go into bloom which made it truly amazing visually. But generally the setting for the course, essentially isolated going up down and through valleys in the desert northwest of Phoenix in a way that makes the course look truly isolated and stunning visually. The hole layouts are also interesting and no two holes really are the same. Would be hard to pick out a signature hole, as almost all of the holes would be a signature hole on other courses. The par 3's are particularly strong, with many having very elevated tee boxes with commanding vistas, causing holes to play roughly two clubs shorter than distance marked. One par 5 on the back offers the ultimate risk reward, allowing the golfer confident in their driver game to cut the corner to the second fairway and open up a good chance to reach the green in two and set up an eagle. The landing areas are generally reasonable in size if playing the right tee boxes for your game, it certainly there is not a ton of room off the fairways before you are in the desert. Most of the course is out in front of you without much hidden to provide unwelcome surprises on what you may think of as good shots (as is the case on many other courses on this area which are very much target golf). Only complaint is that people do not fix their ballmarks on the greens which leaves them fairly badly marked up in places. That is not the courses fault, it is the golfers not doing the right thing. Also golfers could be better about replacing and/or filling their divots. The scenery and the wildlife certainly make even a mediocre day of golf here really pretty great. We saw more wildlife than I will bore you with, including groups of wild burros, packs of paccaries (a pig family animal), rabbits, birds of all types, and so much more.
So overall, if you are only going to get to play one course in the Phoenix area, in my opinion this is the one to play. It is a bit of a drive depending on what part of town you come from, but it is so worth the drive. The clubhouse/pro shop/restaurant isn't fancy or large, but the course is fantastic and the staff are super nice and helpful. I have played Troon North, Wickenberg Ranch, Estrella, and many other Troon courses along with many of the other best courses in the area, and this course is still better in all respects than those in terms of pure golf.
ScottT
This is a true desert course. Please book with Golf Now because I paid far less than the others I played with.
