Resorts at McCormick Ranch Scottsdale

The back nine of the Palms(?) course is under construction and they didn't tell us prior. Fairways not cut or outlined on back nine, nasty water in most bunkers, cones around greens marking off construction spots. Terrible for the price.

I can allow for construction and maintenance, but the course we played had greens that were burned or barren and the traps were absolutely pathetic. Could have troweled a slab in most, like concrete. Didn’t have to rake, couldn’t even leave a footprint. Gravel, not sand. Break your club if you try hit. One of my favorite courses, but full price for a course needing work was a bit unreasonable. Paid $149 (reasonable rate for a nicer course in Scottsdale this time of year) to play the Pine course. When we got there I was informed by the bag attendant that half of one of the courses was shut down for renovations so we were going to sent to play the back 9 of both the palm and the pine course. When I told him we didn't want to do that, he said I should have called the clubhouse when setting up the tee time to let them know I wouldn't want to split the round between the two courses. Why would a customer assume that they are supposed to call to clarify that they want to play the course that they paid to play?

The course was in rough shape, the majority (more than half) of the bunkers on both courses had standing water and the greens on the pine course were pretty torched. Far more mud than you would typically see on a solid Scottsdale course.

The layout was cool and I'm sure when it's in good shape it's a fun course, but feels like an absolute rip off at this price point. Incredibly disappointed with the course and the experience.

Don't waste your money unless you're a brand new golfer and your only objective is to not lose a ball...like playing in a field.

Ducks swimming in swampy sand traps. Washouts, burnouts, large pot holes on cart paths. Standing water on fairways, slippery mud at tee boxes…greens as hard as concrete. Horrible signage, needs updating, painted, make it clear, no signs telling you what hole or yardage, GPS did not work for majority of our round. Young male staff all seem to have arrogant entitled attitudes. Such sarcasm…nothing warm or welcoming. Must be demonstrated and accepted by leadership at this goat farm. Nothing to be proud of gents.

Such a waste of money. Not what I expected rolling into the heart of Scottsdale golf courses.

The staff was very nice but things got off to a bad start. I had called earlier & ask about storing my bags b/c I was heading to the airport right after my round. I was told there was a secure area for my bags, but when I arrived I was told that wasn't the case & I had to leave my bags outside behind the cart barn.

The course was very dried out and the greens were like rocks. They need to put some water on the course. Pace was over 4 hours and nobody out there to move along slow groups. Overall I was very disappointed with the course and for what they charge I would not go back or recommend this course.

This Goat Ranch nestled in Scottsdales Ranch district leaves much to be desired. Poor course conditions will make you immediately regret the $140 greens fees & $10 beers. The friendly staff and free range balls are the courses only saving grace. Course should cost $50 at most.

Also witnessed a local patron walk off with an elderly woman's driver from the range.

The course and scenery were great! Was told the greens are fast. Great, I like fast greens. But they’re fast because they are still new. Very thin grass. Felt more like pressed dirt in spots

Bunkers had lots of standing water (so did course so sprinklers are not synched very well) and no sand just mud. We played Pine and greens on front slower than molasses and back started with them quicker but last three holes were slow even downhill

The course conditions were horrible. The sand traps were completely full of water. We have taken the golf course our future list of golf courses to play.

They're over-watering the course, trying to shock the turf back to life. As a result, balls picked up mud in fairways every time. Bunkers were filled with water! Great land, shabby course. Needs to be totally refurbished.

We play frequently at McCormick Ranch and we are always tentative about playing there. After our round yesterday on the Palm Course I don't think we will be back...unless there are no other reasonable alternatives.
