About Resorts at Ventana Canyon: Loews and The Lodge
Tucson's Ventana Canyon development is home to a residential community and membership, 36 holes of Tom Fazio-designed golf, and two, four-star lodging properties, the Loews Ventana Canyon and The Lodge at Ventana Canyon. The Loews Ventana Canyon is the larger of the two with 398 guest rooms and suites, multiple dining areas and pools, including an adults-only pool. It also has four lighted tennis courts and a spa to go along with multiple dining concepts from fine to bar and casual. The Lodge at Ventana Canyon is smaller with just 50 suites that feature kitchenettes and oversized living areas. The Lodge has its own dining room for casual fare, the Catalina Dining Room, as well as its own pool and spa. Ventana in the summer
Great course with awesome views. Challenge from the tips.
Beautiful layout.
Played both the Mountain and the Canyon courses for the first time. I think the Mountain played a little easier but that might be due to playing with two guys that had played it several times before. Course knowledge is key which I didn't have on Canyon the second day. The courses were in great shape, the greens held approach shots well and putted true. The rough was thick and hard to hit out of. A golf cart is a must...very hilly and large distances between some holes. Highly recommend this great test of golf.
Ventana Canyon - canyon course
Played this course for the first time, but it won't be the last. Beautiful course. Wish it were walkable, but there's miles between greens and tees....not to mention a half mile from the practice area to the first tee. Nonetheless, great electric carts make this a scenic and great golf experience.
Great course but definitely resort priced amenities!
Great course conditions, rate of play, and staff was excellent. Only drawback was the price of food...a small sandwich, chips and drink for $15 before gratuity. Seemed a bit much. Otherwise, perfect all around, and would definitely return.
Nice olf Course
Despite playing poorly, I enjoyed the experience here.
Very well kept conditions with many challenging but fair golf holes. The only issue is the slowness of the greens. I realize that summer heat requires them to keep them a bit longer for their health, but this combined with the midday watering of the greens made them real SLOW.
Excellent summer value for a nice golf course.
A tip for first timers - you can't find the clubhouse with a guide dog as there are no signs anywhere.
The clubhouse is behind the Flying V Restaurant.
Enjoy !
Nice Resort Course
The layout is nice, with a good combination of challenges. The rough and bunkers were in excellent condition. As usual in Tucson, the course is fairly tight with forced carries over desert.
My only negative is that I had previously played the Mountain course at Ventana Canyon, which has truly stunning views on some holes. So, while I recommend the Canyon course, the Mountain is by far my favorite of the two.
Wow
This is the best place I've ever played at! I mean the greens were to die for. The fairways, the best I've walked on. I mean, I'll have to compare this course to my future courses. I'm not from Tucson, but when I come back next year I'll play again. When I say everything was great, I mean it! The driving range has unlimited balls, the scenery is amazing, and the course was to die for.
Awesome
Middle of summer in Tucson and the course is lush. Just a few dead spots but overall the nicest course in Tucson right now!
Beautiful Course
Great course in the foothills. The practice area is a long way from the carts so allow some extra time if you want to warm up before you play. The course was in nearly perfect shape!
Great views with tough greens
Course was in good shape, views were amazing. Tough greens to putt ! Need some local knowledge ! Overall had a great time on a great course ! Highly recomended!!!
Perfect greens
Greens were fast and a little on the firm side, but they still held long iron approach shots.
Course was in great condition.
Resort quality Course
Fairways and Greens in great condition with plenty of trees/shade features make for isolated experience even though many houses around. Pretty views and staff very friendly. Not much of a ball - eater as I would of expected, but needed to throttle back a little-bit. Especially enjoyed #1 Handicap of Canyon, as every shot/putt needed to be perfect but very possible.
Great experience
Play here any time you have a chance--Great conditions and you can select the tees that match your game.
Terrible Pace of Play
Over 5 hours to play with a cart! Foursome of club members (presumably) who refused to let people behind them play through. One group in front of us actually quit after just 3 holes because the pace was so bad. Grounds keepers who would run sprinklers on the hole you were playing! Stand around, then hurry, pace some more, then hurry. What a terrible way to play golf.
Best Deal in Tucson
Hands down my favorite place to play in Tucson in the summer. Great rates and wondeful course.
Vents a Canyon Course
Excellent greens& overall course conditions excellent staff on course & pro shop!
Excellent Condition, Friendly Staff
The course was in perfect shape. The staff was very friendly and professional.
Beautiful course
An absolutely great golfing experience. The course was in excellent shape with outstanding views from many of the holes.
Ventana Canyon
The course was in good shape considering it was summer. The greens could have been faster but were OK. The Fairways and tee boxes were in good shape.
One of the best courses in Tucson
Either mountain or canyon are the 2 best courses in Tucson. Always in great shape
