About Tubac Golf Resort & Spa
Tubac Golf Resort & Spa is located south of Tucson in Southern Arizona on the historic, 500-acre Otero Ranch dating to 1789. This resort dating back to 1959 features 27 holes of golf, spa, tennis and year-round swimming in an intimate village setting with 98 guest rooms and casitas. The property underwent a significant renovation in 2008 which included the addition of a new spa and salon, clubhouse and 17th-century mission-style chapel. There are 52 haciendas, 20 casitas and 27 spacious posada rooms. There is 2,700 square feet of conference space. The resort is famous for being used as a location for the filming of the movie Tin Cup.Facts

Tubac was tinny
Fun place with great surroundings. The course conditions were not impressive. Cows walking in fairways and had obviously walked on greens as well. Sand traps rock hard. Layout is confusing crossing tenth hole to play 9 then back to 10th. Regular rate of $79 is too high. Evidenced by loads of empty tee times. Made trip w overnight to play it twice and did not play second day.
We were not told till we arrived that only 9 holes were open, so we had to play same 9 again. However, golf now gave us a partial refund.
Not worth the price
While the staff were very friendly and helpful, the course was fair at best. There were no coolers on the cart. Water was only available at snack bar or beer cart on course - we took our own cooler for the following two days we played 9 holes. The cost shown was for the wife and I to play 9 holes - time frame was not peak season. When we asked if they had towels, they provide what can be best be described as rags. At best this resort is dated and in need of much TLC.
Not worth the money
We were only able to play one of the 9 hole courses. It really needs a lot of TLC.
I have to confess the best part of playing there were the people we met.
Average golf
Not what we were expecting for a resort type golf course. Absolutely no amenities at all. If you want water you purchased it from beer cart or get a cup of water from the small food service on course. No towels unless you ask and they are really just rags.
Best part are the people who work there. Very friendly.

5 hour round
Great course but needs marshals, not one nor two but three groups of six golfers playing one hole. Average time to play is 3:45- 4 hrs...not anymore 5 plus hours to play in 95 degree plus weather. 6 people per hole should never be even thought of in such a nice golf resort. Maybe a low cost muni in a big city but not when you have only a few choices in the area.
Fairways need work, some fairways don’t have grass

Nice golf course layout. Course was in good shape. Need to pay attention to signs for next hole to get around. The greens are a nice speed.
