green conditions Photo submitted by u000003377470 on 10/21/2019
Course was in pretty good condition.
The course layout is a nice challenge for different levels of players. Overall, the course was in good condition other than the tee boxes which were very uneven and had many areas with no grass.
Painted mountain
1st time back in couple years. Overall good. Pace of olay was a little slow but not horrible. Sand bunkers could use more sand. But we had a good time and glad to see they are doing more to keep it up. Will be back. Not all the blue markers for tees in place. Small things
Thanks
Overbooked
Tee time was 9:30 and they were already running behind. Apparently 5-6 hrs a round is normal as times are 7 min apart. Course in very poor condition. First and last time we will play here!
Restaurant is good but service poor.
Need too have someone making people play on pace
Need hybrids tees mix up blue and white 5300 too short 6100 too long
Gone downhill in last ten years
I played it ten years ago. It's gone downhill in the last ten years. It needs more water and more grass, the fairways are getting to be in rough shape. The greens are still good. Play was slow. I understand it is February, but maybe space the tee times out a bit.
Thats the problem of most courses in AZ. Greedy for more money they do not space out tee times to 10-12 minutes like they do on the PGA where those guys actually know how to play ...lol. Instead they say when its clear then go well that closes the gap they should have.
Great round of golf
Course was in great condition. Played in under 3 1/2 hours. Staff was great. Will play again.
It’s OK
It’s OK. Nothing exciting. I had fun, but I was the first one out and played in about 90 minutes. Greens were good, some fairways a bit patchy. Nothing memorable except friendly staff.
Painted mountain
Course was in decent shape. A couple of tees were sparse and one or two fairways on back 9 need a bit more grass.
Great to find a course with good, green, grass, very little brown dormant area and excellent greens. We will be back!
Divots, dirt, and scruffy tee boxes
The club house and restaurant are ok, but the golf course is struggling. There is no driving range. You can chip and putt, but there is no place to warm up hitting full swing. The tee boxes are full of divots, scruffy grass, and dirt. And please know this is reflected in the price. We played on Saturday, Feb 3 for $100 per person, the week before The Waste Management Open, a bargain for this time of year. The course is short, and at times challenging, especially the first hole. The pace of play was good. We started at 7:30am and completed our round in 4 hours. If they could fix the tee boxes and add a driving range, they could charge $100 more per round.
There used to be a range there and an executive 9 but they filled it in with homes or apartments or whatever they built there now. All about the mighty dollar to the course's detriment.
If 6100 yards is too long for you then maybe you should be playing an executive course with par 3's only instead of complaining about the course itself focus on your own issues.
