Painted Mountain Golf Club
About
The Painted Mountain Golf Club is a challenging desert-style course with a variety of different tees to accommodate every age group and skill level. The course offers a lengthier challenge from the first hole, a par-5 dogleg right, to the last, which requires an approach shot over water in order to reach the green. The Painted Mountain Golf Club, in addition to the course, is also home to the John Jacob's Golf School.

Enjoyed the round !
Overall experience was a good day of golf ! No drama no disappointments other than the usual missed putts.
It’s a good layout and they do what they can within their budget I’m guessing , to keep the course enjoyable to play. The green fees were reasonable and appropriate for a nice easy round of golf without breaking the bank.
Good tee boxes, good fairways, good greens ! All the things I like when I play here in AZ. If your going in expecting Scottsdale National you are not gonna get that.
So So
Played on 5/6, paired with a single lady. Staff is very nice. Coolers with ice on carts. No driving range but does have putting and chipping area. Played a few weeks ago and course was much nicer. Now the tee boxes, fairways, and greens are less than stellar. This course seems to wax and wane. Played in 4 hrs. Not as busy now since snowbirds have left. They just sanded, aereated greens and plowed the roughs and carved into the fairways. Signs were posted about this. Will play again once the course is better.
Best bang for buck
We play here everytime seriuoks the best value in area for 18 hole play we think. Cheers. Will be back
Great Par 70
Tees, fairways, greens, bunkers good. Would have liked areas around greens mowed tighter. Good course.
Fun track, but slow going...
Decent course in Mesa that tends to be popular with golfers that have a slower pace of play. Price is reasonable, so the course gets a lot of traffic. Maintenance of the course is decent, but you'll find bare patches in some fairways. The rough around the greens is lush, so be prepared to struggle pitching from the thick grass.
Greens were recently sanded and needle aerated, so the putting surfaces were much slower than a few weeks ago.
Overall, a fun round that allowed plenty of time to visit with my son in law as we waited at each tee.
Not Recommend Poor Conditions
This course is not worth playing. The front nine has no rough, just hard pan. The bunkers are washed out.The fairways are thin. The greens were slow and the back nine greens were sandy. I would expect to pay $45 at most for what they are providing. There is also no driving range. DO NOT PLAY HERE
Quiet and fast
We got on the course 40 minutes ahead of our tee time, played in 3.5 hours. Decent fairways, tee boxes. Roughs and around greens need mowing. They were sanding greens after arriving. Decent course.
Pace of play
We were in a 4-some and had to let a 2-some and a single go thru……. Course should actually put those 3 together !
not worth it
I have played at PM for 15 years and the last 3 years have been a struggle to return. The course changed Pros and complete new staff. The atmosphere has gone down hill steadily since the change. Course conditions have gone down as well, but the green fees have gone up.
Example of the new folks: The cups have not been set down into the ground, but left with the top of the cup even with the green. Putts bounce out after hitting the bottom of the cup or bounce off the edge. I have golfed for 60 years and seen this once before. At PM it can happen 3-4 times a round. After getting fed up with the cups, I stopped in the pro shop and explained the issue. Response from head pro "not my job". This attitude has not gotten better over the last few months.
The bar upstairs is a joke. they seem to think they are high end. Food is ok, personnel are great except management who seems to think he is doing you a favor by allowing you in the door.
Take your money and go elsewhere where you will be treated correctly.
