Frost delay caused some congestion on course
but still reasonable time to complete the round
Average golf at average price
It goes without saying golf has become more expensive since 2020. This applies to the valley around Phoenix as well. Painted Mountain is now $60-70 to play a decently maintained average golf course. Because of the price point, you can expect the course to be busy every day. Still a good value when compared to the other courses in the area.
Pin locations tough
Most of the flags were on inclined surfaces and that made it fun and challenging.
Painted Mountain GC
Great customer service. Excellent course and layout. Nice play!
One of our favorites so far.
We’ve been in Gilbert for a little over a year and haven’t played a bunch of courses yet but this is probably our favorite so far. Nothing too crazy so my wife enjoys it and yardage isn’t too much for her. We got paired with another couple who were wonderful to play with and exchanged contact info so we could meet up with them again. Definitely recommend Painted Mountain to everyone.
Becoming one of favorite courses.
Played only our 2nd round at Painted Mountain today and we really enjoy it. Layout is challenging enough but plenty of chances to score if you’re finding fairways. Will definitely keep coming back for many more.
Had a great time!
First time playing this course and had a great time. Not over challenging. Course was in good condition if you stayed in fairways. Not much room for error outside of fairways as hard pan dirt and pebbles. Sand Traps were really rough. Lots of pebbles in the sand. Had to pick ball up and return to fairway unless you don’t like your clubs for some reason.
Over Priced and slowest round you’ll play
Don’t waste your time or money coming to play this course. They don’t have a driving range, the pace of play is terrible and their old Marshalls don’t do anything but hold it up even more. The Marshall yesterday said we were “right on pace”… lol yeah maybe for a 6 hour round. We finished 9 holes in 2.75 hours and waited on every tee box for 10-15 minutes. We left after hole 12 because of how bad it was. The Condition of the course has always been poor here, every tee box is beat and you’re lucky to find a strip of grass to tee up on. The only hole that seems to be well maintained is hole 4. Just very unpleased with my past experiences here and if I could save some other golfer the time and money from playing here, then I’m happy. You’re better off playing Viewpoint or Apache Wells, which are comparable in cost but way better in value and quality. Or Pay a little more and play red mountain ranch or las sendas.
