Near the heart of Scottsdale, the Westin Kierland Resort features one of Arizona's largest and all-encompassing resort properties. Great shape
Although the course was in great shape the layout every hole looked the same and pace of play was very slow 5 hours
Awesome Course in Scottsdale
Kierland was the last course we played on a 4 day guys golf trip. We had a great time and the course was in really, really good shape. It's a resort course and the course layout helps out on wayward shots. You can get into trouble but most of the time mishits don't penalize you too much. The practice range was really, really beat up and some of the tee boxes looked pretty gnarly. I still think Kierland is an awesome place to pay golf!!!!
The reservation was messed up
Someone screwed up this reservation. The Pro Shop staff said Golf Now screwed it up as it we were not on their tee sheet. I showed them e mail confirmation and they said it was not on their sheet which caused a problem with our flight plan in the afternoon. They were able to get us out on the course, but it was a head ahe that was un-necessary. Also, they charged us, did you charge us too? Please respond to that question asap please.
Great staff and course
Very easy check in and all the staff was helpful and friendly. The course was challenging but fair. Liked the different tee options
Slow - slow - slow
This resort caters to retiree, couples, guys who gamble. This all contributes to a 5:45 hour round. So don't book your flight home the same day. November is cart path only. the conditions are nice looking, the bunkers are playable. but don't think you get through in 4.5.
Kierland Mesquite/Acacia
Good course. Tough CPO, but just coming out of overseed. Good layout and facilities.
Kierland Acacia/Mesquite
Course was in decent shape following overseed. Cart path only was difficult on the Acacia course (lots of up and down), not bad on Mesquite. Fun to play.

Condition of course not worth price
The price per round led me to believe they were fully recovered from over seeding but they were only a couple days out and were still cart path only on Mesquite. The greens were still bumpy and sandy which is of course to be expected right after an overseed, but the price was indicative of prime season ad prime conditions. Fun course but more of a resort tourist trap than a frequent course for locals.
Save your money!
Pros- Average pace of play, free range balls
Cons-
1. no putting practice area ( under construction)
2. Greens were recently aerated so we’re very bumpy.
3. Tight Course with holes slightly overlapping each other. All I heard all day is bad golfers yelling 4 ( almost got hit twice by errant balls) or balls hitting trees all around you. Not stress free that’s for sure.
4. $110 to play which is a rip off ( typical resort course though). I wouldn’t pay more than $50 play it.
5. Lots of terrible golfers in a course that requires you to at least get off the tee more than 100 yards.

The course was great. Clubhouse on on course folks were great. Starter was rude and dismissive
