Great resort layout.
The greens were true but a little bumpy. Overall a great golf course. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I will be returning for sure.
Rot, mold and uneven tees
We were terribly disappointed with our round on Monday. The course is dealing with extreme amounts of either fungus or rot on the greens that makes putting absolutely impossible. The fairways are skalped and dead in many places the bunkers are completely inconsistent throughout. This was very surprising as this is one of my favorite courses to play normally.
Love THese Courses
I have reviewed these courses previously. They continue to impress.
GolfNow messed up
Our tee time from golfnow didn’t get processed. The coarse was awesome and we were able to re-book for a later tee time.
Summer conditions
Course is a very nice layout and usually excellent conditions. Apparently they have a fungus on some of the greens, which is a shame. Pins are located far away from the fungus areas, so it only impacts play on some long putts and chips.
Pace of play was excellent
Definitely worth the money at summer rates.
Great course
Awesome course. Maintained even in summer months, perfectly manicured. Love the ice chest of cold towels. Pace of play may be best in town. Definitely my favorite course!
Condition of course and pace of play
The condition of the fairways and greens were very well maintained. The pace of play was very good as well, it took just under four hours to play our round. It was an enjoyable day. I will play this course again!
Promotion Rate
A Troon Course that offered a great rate. Thanks will play it again. One fairway was under repair other than that it was a good set up. Plays pretty tough but fair.
Good
Wide fairway. Large green.
Not too over challenging but still fun layout.
Some occassional dry spots near greens
but overall mostly still playable
Would recommend as 'must try course' to anyone.
But one thing I find funny though is that. . .
an outstanding golf resort like this. .seems to have relatively limited parking spots
Always a great track
A beautiful course void of any houses or structure to distract. Fairways were cut short this time out and the greens were running slow and were bumpier than I’ve seen them , still a good value as we head into summer rates
Great Troon course
Great course. Deep soft bunkers. Pace played a little slow.
Devils Claw
Good place to play. Challenging enough for the advanced golfer and intermediate golfer. Good price.
Only negative was the greens had a fungus or something and weren't as smooth as they could be. Not terrible just not great.
Good times friendly staff
First time playing here on the Devels Claw. Staff was very friendly and Dustin the starter was very helpful with directing me where to go and answered all my questions. Greens and fairways really good conditions. I will be back asap :)
Whirlwind- Devils Claw
Beautiful course , the ungelations make each shot a thoughtful pace before club selection.
Pace of Play
Good rates out here this time of year vs. what people are willing to pay during the winter time. The fairways are usually wet meaning 0 to negative roll on drives and lots of mud balls. I was a single behind a 4some that never let me play through the entire round. Player assistance was around multiple times but seems more interested in handing out wet towels (thank you) than doing something about the pace of play. Could have finished in 2 hours if it wasn't for that, instead it was a 4.5 hour round in the 100F+ heat. I took the opportunity to play 3 balls per hole and practice my chipping and putting from around each green. Greens are decent for this time of year, running maybe a 9 at best, with some real dead/rough spots around the edges of some greens.
I'll be coming back if I can continue to get rounds under $40 here.
