Aerated Greens
They had punched the greens a day earlier. Would have been nice to know somehow on the GolfNow app that that was the case.
Nice Course
Nice venue, very picturesque! I’ll play again when I’m in the area.
Alisal #2
Hadn't played the River Course for many years. It was fun, not in the best shape, and not the hardest layout. Greens were great. Conditions overall were above average.
Nice course
Played on a Wednesday. Not much wind, about 80 degrees. Greens were great. New sand in bunkers caused a few plugged/fried egg situations. Fairways and rough were good but there are lots of animal holes and mounds throughout. At one point, my group was behind a foursome of golfers who also had wives/girlfriends on carts so there were three carts ahead of us and they were very slow. They dropped after 9 holes so the back 9 was ideal.
Great Day!
Course was in great shape! No complaints, not too many people on the course, and the greens were great!
River Course at the Alisal
I got a Hot Deal on GolfNow including a cart. I was able to start about 15 minutes early at 11:25 since there weren't many players due to the 85-90 degree temperature. I didn't have anyone in front of me until the last hole. The course is in excellent shape. The refurbished tee boxes are firm, level, and a really great way to start each hole. The greens hold approach shots very well from fairways that provide a nice, even lie. The greens are consistently smooth for putting.
Best Course in Area
I always enjoy playing at this course. The staff is amazing from start to finish. Collin really make you feel like you're going to have a great outing. His knowledge about golf and the course is very valuable. I'm definitely making this course my very favorite in the general vicinity.
Decent Value and Layout
Course is very convenient if you are visiting the Solvang area. Pro Shop staff was friendly, not a lot of staff elsewhere to help with clubs or directions. Course layout is solid, one bad hole with a tree in front of the green - 2nd par 5 on front. Fairways were bare in spots and oversaturated. Greens did not have a lot of undulation but in good condition albeit a bit slow. Pace was good although we got lucky as the groups behind us were very slow, finsih8ng a lose to an hour behind as we were eating lunch, Restaurant is very good, patio seating for sure.
Nice course
Beautiful course, reasonable rate, no one was out there when we went so it was peaceful and relaxing
Terrific Experience Once Again
I can honestly say, without exaggeration, that The Ranch Course at Alisal is one of my favorite places to play. When I arrived this time, it was to my pleasant surprise that things had gotten even better. They have sunk lots of money, time, and effort into the course, and it has never been better. The tee boxes have all been leveled and re-done. The greens were in perfect condition and rolled fast and true. The fairways were lush and green, and they have begun re-doing the bunkers. Unike many of the courses that I play, there is actually quality sand in the bunkers. One thing that really impresses me about The Ranch Course is the etiquette shown by the employees as they work to improve the course. It never fails that they stop their mowers or equipment and provide a quiet opportunity for you to hit the ball. They realize that it takes just a moment for them to stop, and then they can resume what they are doing. In speaking to Mike, one of the managers of the course, I commended him on everything they are doing, but in particular the friendliness and cooperative attitude they display toward the players. The Ranch Course at Alisal should help train the employees of other courses, because they know how to do it right! I am from Northern California, but always look forward to playing at Alisal. Thanks again for a tremendous day of golf!
