Great Round
Great day all around course & staff were outstanding!!
Beware of the tournaments
We were enjoying a solid round until we came up on a juniors tournament on the back 9. We were unable to finish our round because the pace of play ground to a halt with holes taking longer than 30 minutes behind the juniors. We had been told that there was a scramble tournament ahead of us but that They had made sure we had enough room between us and the tournament do you have a reasonable pace. I think it’s incumbent on the course to notify players that there could be a problem when the circumstances occur. Very disappointed.
Nice Course
Nice course, in pretty good condition. Greens were SUPER FAST. Quite a few blind shots which can be tough when you’re playing for the first time. Overall would recommend
A must play
When in palm desert this is the course to play. Beautiful grounds and the weather was perfect. I look forward to our next visit.
Boutique Couse
Give the score card a really good review before you book this location. While the condition of the course was beyond perfect, it's short. The Celebrity course is a single par 5 single par 3 per nine, and the whites only play 6000 yards.
I normally look at slope and rating as well as the card a lot closer, but having been in a rut and not playing new course lately, I was out of practice at paying attention.
The range is nice off the grass and piles of balls at the tee, excellent warm up and excellent practice facility.
Definably narrow, you won't be scoring spraying it off the tee and expect to score . if you're longer than 220 off the tee, play the tips. Greens are brutal tough, 14 plus stimp!
Carts are a bit dodgy, I was given a half dead cart that starting failing half way through the front nine, and had issues climbing hills. Called the pro shop for a replacement that never found me. That and the onboard ball and club scrubber was dry because the drain plug was gone, and the cooler was empty on a 93º day.
Lastly, this is a resort facility, not a TPC experience by any stretch. LOTS of bling LOTS of big money catering going on here. Also, plenty of tour-wanna-bees that won't let you play through even if you ask! Twosomes that play slower the foursomes. sooooo slow for a short course, should be round in 3 hours--you'll be lucky finish in 5!
The huge redeeming quality of this location is the on course staff. The starters and marshals are amazing folks that really care about your experience and making it as excellent as possible.
Best Experience in the Valley
Challenging layout with a little bit of elevation change. Outstanding conditions. Friendliest staff around. One reminder to all: fix your ball marks (and someone else’s). I fixed at least 3 fresh marks on nearly every green.
Players @ IW
Rode the Orange Tees (6538/71.6/130) with Sal and Johnny in around 4H early morning. The weather was in the 80's, clear and fairly calm. Thanks to Johnny for setting this up and for IW for having us out!
The course conditions were excellent overall. I appreciate this layout more with each round played here. It would be challenging to walk since there are numerous tees 100+ yards from the last green. The customer service is always excellent here. Plenty of ice/water stations on the course. Nice GPS on the carts. Cart person came around numerous times. Complementary range balls on an all grass range is a plus.
The tees were lush and nicely maintained with few divots.
The fairways were lush and very nice to play from.
The overseeded rough close to greens, just off fairways and arounf tees is mowed down and not overly penal and is lush. The non over seeded Bermuda rough farther off fairways has good coverage but is not what I would call lush.
The sand traps were well maintained with fine sand.
The greens were smooth and putted medium fast speed. Firm with few ball marks. These large greens have many subtle undulations with few straight putts.
Really like this John Fought design that features 7 sets of well spaced tees. Par 72 (37-35). The course is a good mixture of flat and rolling hills. Large challenging green complexes. Challenging layout featuring many holes with fairways that are either narrow in the landing area or require turning the ball to get in prime positions. Highly recommended.
Top golf course!
I find it very difficult to play in a better course than the Celebrity and I look forward to play it again .
Excellent golf experience
Wanted to play a nice course during my vacation.
This did not disappoint in any way. Courteous and friendly staff, a great course and amenities.
Took many pictures of the scenery while playing.
Lunch at the clubhouse was good too.
Will definitely come back.
Sadly disappointed
I golfed this course about 5 years ago and had very fond memories. This time
it was not the same experience. We arrived early to warm up but the driving range was not ready. The course appeared muddy and dry looking. Maybe this is due to the recent flooding but it was not what I remembered it to be. The bunkers seem to be everywhere and set up for a pro to get out of. We played The Players Course perhaps the other would be better.
Fast Greens
I know they were over 10 on the stemp, maybe over 11 - very fast, very nice!
Excellent course......demanding, alertnes to shot selection...undulation/elevation
Demanding course, not forgiving to poor shots or club selection. Great scenery. It has it all.
ENJOYABLE !!
I am planning a trip there in March 2020. Do you remember how much the green fees are? Thanks!
