Hole #12 I believe. Photo submitted by Trailerteri on 04/03/2013
Great Layout. A Challenge!!
Really great layout. Definitely a challenge. Not a resort course by any means.
Great Track
Great layout, just overseeded so greens a bit slow but otherwise great shape. Great staff but round was nearly five hours do to slow play by group in front of our foursome and no carts off the path.
Nice Course - Room for Customer Service to Improve
Pretty nice course; definitely on the more challenging side for me, a bogey golfer.
I golfed several nicer courses in the Palm Springs area on my trip; Indian Wells definitely could have been a bit nicer to make me feel special and welcome.
Starter was very clear - cart path in rough only. Later in my round as a single, I joined a threesome, including two course marshals using playing privileges. I followed their caravan on our first hole together and the governor on my cart kicked in, thinking I was in the fairway. The marshal stopped to help me by resetting the cart to be handicap accessible (which I did not ask for), which did help me get back to the cart path. A worker on an adjacent fairway started yelling at me, along the lines of "Do not listen to that guy, dude - get off the fairway." I am okay with buddies calling me dude, or if I had blatantly disregarded their cart rules, but neither of these was the case. Soured me on what should have been a pleasant experience.
Love this course
Course was in AMAZING shape- especially the greens. Played in a foursome in less than 4 hours, which is a big win in my book. Lost a club on the course and the staff was kind enough to take me out to the hole that I thought I lost it at and helped me find it quickly. Definitely a challenging course, but lots of fun. A little pricey during peak season, but still a nice day.
Indian Wells Players Course
The course was in great shape. Pace of play was good. The group ahead of us apparently didn’t know that they could drive their cart on the fairways. They spent a lot of time running back and forth to their cart. The staff might remind them, which would improve pace. We went to the restaurant after golf, but we were turned away because they would only allow entry for those with a reservation. That seemed strange because no one was there. The hostess was not friendly, in contrast to the golf course personnel. The price was good because I filled an opening. Their regular prices are pretty high. I have played here multiple times, and I enjoyed it each time.
Unbelievable Condition
1. Amazing staff. Very friendly. Very helpful. Very upbeat and happy to be there.
2. I've not played a course in this good of shape in a long, long time. They even just re-seeded the fairways but you'd never know it. The greens were pristine. The traps were very playable, clean & soft (I know - I was in them all day!)
3. We had a group of much better golfers behind us and they kept hitting up on us... but we kept the pace up as fast as we could and it was never a problem.
Nice layout
Nice course overall. Very well kept except for bunkers. Seems most people didn’t rake even though one was provided on the cart. Greens are a bit on slow side as well. Good experience and will definitely go back, post COVID.
