A Walk in the Park
Another good round at SMEC. Weather was hot but quick pace of play made the difference. Walked 18 holes in 2.25 hours. Club house was under construction.
(Almost) Everything is Great about this Course
We return here weekly because it is a great layout and in great shape…except for the hard pan bunkers. They need to put new sand in them, however other than that it is the premiere short course in the county.
Good value
The front nine is showing heavy traffic, long dry summer, gotta fluff in fairway on a few holes… few greens front 9 have some small dead spots but not horrible by any means.
Back 9 in fabulous shape. They should flip the 9s periodically to get a more sustainable overall course conditions.
Pace of play was average, I’ve had better there. But I golf in afternoons so it’s a crap shoot.
Staff has always been kind to me there, not a member so that says a lot and credit them and management.
Grear executive course
Course is in great shape and awesone short game practice. Had entertainment from a gopher on the 15th tee box.
Slow Play
Fivesome in group ahead. Sixsome two groups ahead. Slow play...again! Course does not manage play well at all. Not the first time.
Really fun track
Flat walkable layout except for two holes on the back 9 which are a bit of a hike but nothing terrible. The greens were in great shape as we’re the tee boxes. The fairways were mostly well kept but did have some burnt out areas. The rough was maintained but fairly high, which made for a bit of a challenge. I avoided the bunkers but they looked…ok, not great.
Wish they would put a net on holes 1 and 10 to keep them from being littered with errant driving range balls…play a colored ball on those holes
This golf course didn’t have amazing views, crazy water features, or forced Carries. To some that may be a flaw, to me it’s a feature. Well groomed track that provides a reasonable challenge to the average golfer
Friendly staff and the restaurant bar area looks like a lot of fun but I was by myself and had to getting going
St marks
Nice course. Tricky, but nice greens. Had a little trouble chipping, that kikuyu grass around the greens is a club grabber. Country Clubs call it that, l call it crab grass.
