Club Stolen
I had a 56 Degree Hybrid Wedge (Dune) stolen out of my bag and no one helped me. There was a group behind me that included a person that works the front desk. Very suspicious, and nothing was done.
Enjoyable short course to play
Nestled in one of the canyons in San Marcos, CA, the Exec Lakeside course offers an enjoyable location for short course golf. We actually played on an 80+ degree day, but still felt comfortable under significant shade and with a slight breeze. Many of the holes have a beautiful view of the general geography of this area. I thought the tee pads needed some weeding - there were several tufts of bermuda grass that made setting up your on ball - on or off a tee - difficult. All in all, an enjoyable place to play!
The Links at the Lakehouse
Fun course. The greens are pretty good, decent pace, and hold shots pretty well (there are some rough areas on some of the greens…fungus?). The fairways are good, where they are good, but the course has some serious drainage issues (and has for years). Layout is okay, some good holes, and a couple of funky ones. This is a relatively easy course, only a couple of tougher holes (yes, I’m speaking to you #12….one of the toughest par 5’s I’ve ever played). Very friendly staff, and a great value for the $$.
Great course and great staff
This is a local spot for me and a great place to work in that irons game. The staff has been on point every time and the course is generally in decent shape save for some muddy areas on some shadow covered areas. It’s been a great spot to take my son who’s just learning the game of golf. And the food at Amalfi is tasty
Accident on course, no assistance
Accident occurred due to course negligence. No one was able to help from the course. Only the restaurant manager came out to see what happened and offered an ice bag. No phone numbers taken no assistance to any kind of hospital. Left to go to urgent care than emergency room by our selves to take cat scans and take care of injuries to face and hand
Very slow pace
Pace is very slow. I tried to play through as a single and thought I would eventually hit a gap, but after playing through 4 groups there was no gap. I even tried skipping a hole after the 4th group but there was still a 2 group queue ahead of them. I think it’s just over booked.
Nice course but…
Great course a lil rough in some places no big deal. One annoying thing guy on intercom cracking jokes instead of just calling tee times. We playing golf here buddy be quiet!
Lakehouse effect
I only have one complaint about this course. The cart is programmed to not let you drive on the fairway and the "no carts" signs are too far back from the green. On #9 if I recall correctly, the signs are 100 yds from the green. If you are in the "no go zone", there is a lot of unnessary walking and time wasted. One other minor complaint is the cart paths are extremely rough. If you drive on them, your back will hurt later. If you don't drive on them, the cart will stop.
Great Round
I had a great round. Steve, at the front desk, was very hospitable and kind. The only problem was that I was paired with a young golfer who became very slow on the back nine. I believe it was because he had too much alcohol. He had trouble hitting the ball and took too much time to play. My round was not as enjoyable because of this distraction. There was a foursome ahead of the two of us that we failed to keep up with.
