Fun Course, Great Greens and Challenging
6300-yards and lots of challenges. It’s getable, but beware! The greens don’t feature a ton of break, but they’re true.
This place just oozes history
Staff was super friendly. Course is fun and the mix of holes is fantastic.
Gorgeous Course
This is definitely in my top 5 courses I’ve ever played. Very well kept and such beautiful views! I can’t wait to come back
Beautiful Course
Ojai Valley is an excellent layout with generous fairways, but lots of bunkers (with great sand) lots of tress and carry shots, and well maintained fairways and greens.
Sweet and friendly
The staff from the starter to Bev the beverage gal are willing to do whatever it takes to make your round and needs met, the course is maticulously taken care of, and it was D-Mac's bday,
AWESOME
Fantastic find in the mountains
Had a wonderfull experience at the resort golf. A bit out of the way but if you like playing a Scottish style highland golf course then this is a must. Green staff in particular very helpful and friendly. All amenities are good although fairways needing a tiny bit more TLC but considering the recent difficulties with fire then floods it is a “wee gem”
Get a HotDeal During the Week
Strongly suggest booking this course to play in the middle of the week for $55. Not saying that this course isn't worth the higher price tag you would pay without the HotDeal, because it is. With all of the rain we have had in Southern California this winter, the mountains around Ojai are just spectacular right now to play OVI! Hurry up and go now.
George Thomas take his name off of the design
I've played this great course many times. It was designed by SoCal's legendary designer Captain George Thomas in the 1920's.
When playing this past Friday I found out that they had changed/ruined the 18th hole. They built a new huge wedding venue and in doing so, dramatically changed one of the greatest holes in California. The person that laid out the new 18th hole should be forbidden from ever designing any future golf holes.
Most people won't care, and that is fine, but to rip up the original hole is really questionable decision making.
Fast greens
Be careful on your 1st putts! Had many 4footers coming back.
Gorgeous setting
Classic design and unique hole layout - relatively tight - greens are fast and.smooth - major complaint and 3 star rating is due to condition of fairways - quality of grass is marginal might be due to early season and weather conditions - but needs a better strain of grass to make this course a 5 star - all other amenities and staff are excellent
