Beautiful course
This course is really outstanding. And the pace of play was incredible. We played 18 holes in just under 3 hours.
Absolutely Not Worthwhile Visiting for Play
I spent about one and a half hours to get there by driving mostly on highways. Given the driving distance and the amount you should pay, I DO NOT recommend that you play there. If it's located in urban area, the course won't be popular. I just went there again to evaluate my golfing ability since I recorded the worst score last time due to the unfamiliarity of the course. Three Par 3 holes out of four are extremely short and most par 4 and par 5 holes are short. Good thing is that you can enjoy the ambience of private courses. You are not pushed to pick up the pace of your play but may finish a round in 4 hours. I bet the course evaluation is exaggerated because of the ambience of resort courses.
Course was in fantastic shape and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Quite a few forced carries which can be avoided by playing the forward tees if a less challenging set up is desired. Fantastic views.
Course to ourselves
Rode the blues in 3 hours, with my son. This was our second time playing in as many weeks. Again country club conditions as we basically had the course to ourselves. The staff here truly is the best, I’ve never had close to a bad experience here. The starter let us out an hour early off of the back. The course is in wonderful shape tee to green. The are constantly doing maintenance up until 3pm which I’ve rarely seen. Tees were level, traps were immaculate, greens riolled true with hardly any ball marks. I used my free voucher, this course keeps me on GolfNow. Staff was saying they may ditch GolfNow. If anyone from GolfNow is reading this if you lose ojai you lose me lol. I highly recommend this course.
Golf Heaven!
Played on a basically empty course today in perfect 70 degree weather. Ojai is extremely challenging, especially around and on the greens. The scenery is unbelievable, the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. I don’t have a single complaint other than I don’t get to play it again tomorrow. Outstanding golf experience all around.
Excellent course
Fun course to play. Strategic layout, you can’t use your Driver on every hole. The greens are quite small and fast. If you’ve never played you can get a cheat sheet from the starter, giving you tips on strategy.
Great Day!
You really can’t ask for a more picturesque setting for a day of resort golf... the course was in great shape and greens that were very questionable the last time I played have been under repair and are getting better!
Definitely worth the trip for a relaxing day!
greens in bad shape
greens are in bad shape. the rest of the course is in good shape.
Alas a beautiful old course is now just old
Greens are the worst in California. In awful shape. Course needs TLC to restore it to old glory!!!
Love the layout, greens were not in good shape
I love this course but the greens were in terrible shape.
Pace of play was fantastic and the layout and design is always challenging and fun.
Hope they can get the greens back to their glory
Good course messed up greens
Great layout tee boxes an fairways are in great condition. The greens are really messed up. 3-4 greens are 60% sand the rest have large patches of disease
Wait until greens are fixed
They unfortunately have a major problem with their greens right now. Someone apparently used the wrong chemical on them and there are patches of dead grass on most of the greens. The rest of the course is great and it is well worth playing...just give it some time for repair.
Great Day, but the greens
I have been wanting to play this course and want to to give it a great review, but after really thinking about it... it’s just not worth it. This is the second time that I’ve been stiffed on this app, but this time paying a premium green fee for a course with multiple greens needing serious attention, really just hurts.
It’s a stunning resort and the service is a resort golf experience that is top notch. Although, when you come to play and pay... it’s about the course and a big part comes down to the greens.
