Stunning course - well worth the drive from San Diego
I’ve taken a few trips over the years to San Diego and have played Torrey (North and South), Maderas, PGA West Mountain, and now Journey. I was previously blown away at how fantastic of a course Maderas was, but Journey was on a whole other level..
The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, the practice area is top notch, and the course was immaculate. The views from some of the tee boxes were incredible. If you’re in the San Diego area and are lucky enough to have a rental car, I cannot recommend. Journey enough. It was well worth the hour drive.
First time there!
Staff was super friendly and kind as I was running late due to the traffic. They said no worries and got me out right away. Cart has all features I like, cushion seats, towels, ice water in cooler & GPS. The layout is beautiful w/ flat & elevated holes & dog leg left & rights. I was surprised of how much water runs through and how clean & healthy w/animals enjoying it. The greens were medium to fast paced & tricky to read. The tee box markers were tight but the tee ground it self were good size. Fairways & rough were also kept very well groomed & manageable to get out of, well most were. The ride from green to tee was pretty long in the front which I was happy that the carts were nice. Overall it was a great course & I look forward to playing there again.
Very fun course. Course is in Excellent shape! A bit expensive. But every once in a while you need to treat yourself.
No cart service and no staff around after 3pm
That could just because of Covid or short staff
1st time playing here
finally decided to play this course. It was a wonderful experience from the golf pro shop to the starter to even the players I was teamed up with. Can’t wait to play the course again
Beautiful grounds. Liked the hot deal for half the price
Great Course, slow groups
Loved the course layout and overall course condition. It was very windy but that might be normal for summer afternoons. There were two groups in front of me that were VERY slow. No course marshal that I saw. Players should be reminded to fix ball marks and divots.
Greens were plugged
Would have been a better rating. Its always a surprise
This course is pristine
Fast greens fairways in perfect condition. Overall one of the best courses I’ve played.
This course is great! Friendly staff! Book tee time early,, it was a 4.hour round. I can see from pass review how It could be a 5 hour round.. The course is a long track and the rough is thick, so you better hit in the fairway. I lost a few balls because of the thickness. The views are awesome as well. Love the change is elevated holes. So fun! I’ll play this course again
Excellent except pace of play
Everything about the golf course including amenities and staff were excellent except for pace of play. It took us almost 3 hours to complete the front 9 because there were 3 foursome flights ahead of us that were playing some sort of tournament style of play. We were not in any rush but 6 hours to play a round would have been ridiculous. We ended up just playing the front 9 again to end our frustration and we were able to finish our 2nd 9 in just over 2 hours. There should be a Marshall to ensure reasonable pace of play.
