Excellent except pace of play
Everything about the golf course including amenities and staff were excellent except for pace of play. It took us almost 3 hours to complete the front 9 because there were 3 foursome flights ahead of us that were playing some sort of tournament style of play. We were not in any rush but 6 hours to play a round would have been ridiculous. We ended up just playing the front 9 again to end our frustration and we were able to finish our 2nd 9 in just over 2 hours. There should be a Marshall to ensure reasonable pace of play.
Beautiful and unique
Everything was perfect except the group in front of us need to work on their pace of play. By the time we finished we had two groups stacked behind us while we were waiting for the group in front of us to finish, never saw a course ranger. Minor detail, amazing place-would definitely come back.
Slow pace
Took 5 hours to play at 7:45 am. Being the 4th group out I expect a 4 hr pace and nothing less. Since covid I have noticed that the average person has taken up golf and its become a more of a date night/ day with your girlfriend. Golf prices have gone way up and some courses dont care whos on the course. When i spend $100-$200 I expect the people on the course to be good level playing and when its a bunch of hackers and couples out to just hangout, its not cool. We requested a marshall on the 10 hole to advise the group in front of us to pick up the pace …. He never came.. Pechanga please take note and send some marshalls out to moniter slow pace. Other than that the course is awesome.
Love Playing Journey at Pechanga!
Course was in great condition and the greens were rolling quite nicely! Note that once the sun goes down it can get quite cold so be sure to bring a beanie, sweater and/ or jacket!
Sunday Funday but too slow (very slow pace)
First time playing at Pechanga, at first glance looked very exciting and was...the range, short game area and practice putting green was nice. The course, (well the first nine holes) was fun but it took 3 hours to play. We waited on every shot. We stopped playing after nine holes because it was getting slower as the day went on, no marshals on the course to help speed up the pace of play. We did ask for a 9 hole rain check but was initially denied but then was told they look into. I have not heard anything back. Also, the most exciting part of the day was the person in my group had a hole in one (first one)!
5 is the number
It’s is a five star course but expect a five hour round as fivesomes are many on the course and they are setting the pace.
Excellent layout
One of the best courses around.. But not easy and the staff is fantastic....Don't cry when you lose your golf balls..
Amazing Course
Great layout. Beautiful condition. Great warmup areas. Range balls included with fees. Every staff member we encountered was awesome. I can’t believe I’m going to say this...the starter was great and super helpful!! Some great views on 3 or 4 holes. Will definitely be playing here more.
Too much - too slow
For one hundred and fifty nine dollars , I do not expect to be out there for 5 hours. There was no Marshall and the group in front of us was painfully slow. We just made it in before it got too dark.
Always a treat to play the magnificent Journey
Played Nov 1st. 1215 time weather was prime. Not too windy which is even better and rare (it can get windy) all I have to really say is that the place really is First class even from the parking lot where you are greeted and bags taken and put on the cart for you. Even my 1000 pound bag haha ! all the way back to it afterwards. 100 percent top notch golf at its finest ! Layout is fantastic. Plenty of scoring Scoring opportunities to be had. Demanding shots. Risk rewards. You name it. No stone unturned. Go play journey at pechanga when you have the chance. It’s a pretty penny, but worth it all in all !
Great course
First day of opening after reseeding and punching greens so over all good day
Pechanga good conditions and very playable.
Punched greens with sand but overall very playable.
Green!!!
