About The Vinoy® Renaissance St. Petersburg Resort & Golf Club

The AAA Four-Diamond Vinoy Renaissance St. Petersburg Resort & Golf Club dates back to 1925, when its original Mediterranean Revival-style hotel was built. Part of the National Register of Historic Places, the resort blends old and new in its offerings to guests. The Vinoy Golf Club is no different. A private club to which only members and hotel guests have access, it was also built in the 20s, later renovated in 1992 by Ron Garl.

Could be better

Love the course. Wish it were in better shape. Reopened recently after annual summer maintenance. Not sure the new sod near the greens is taking. Greens are still sandy.

great fairways and tees

My club pro arranged to get me on this course. I played it in the 90s and it is much improved since then. Water on most holes presents a challenge but it is set up fair. Beautiful scenery and condition, but wish the greens werent sandy and recently aerated.

Long on conditioning and enjoyment

At 6,600 yards, Renaissance Vinoy Golf Club doesn't beat you up, but it's plenty challenging. Because of its great conditioning and fairways that run on the soft side, it plays all of its yardage. Add in lots of water and ever-present wind and you've got a pretty good test. Best of all, though, it's enjoyable. Fairways are generally generous, with nine and 18 being an exception.

Nice Course in the 'Burbs

First time playing it. Can't really speak for the price as I was playing with a member.

Pace of play was excellent. Good condition. Course tends to feel narrow for us high handicappers. I would definitely play it again when in the St. Pete area.

It's part of a hotel resort, however the course is a couple miles away.
