Fast Greens
The greens were quick with brutal pin placement to help balance out the lack of length. Course was in pretty good condition except for the greens. They were patchy and bumpy with patches of sand on a few greens. Probably will not be back for a while but it was fun to give it a try
The greens are definitely challenging right now. In preparation for the conversion to TifEagle Bermuda, they have really picked some speed. We should have the new greens open sometime in August depending on the weather and we look forward to seeing you then.
Great Value and Great Scenery
Outstanding value through GolfNow, wayyyy too good to pass up. Staff is super friendly, struck up conversation while storms pass. Course was wet but manageable, and the hot sun dried up the back nine for us nicely. For the money, this course is second to none. The layout is wide and very approachable, lots of room for forgiveness. The greens could be better, putting with awful grass and debris is no fun. Still, for the money, you cant go wrong. Also, the view!
Thank you for playing City Club, especially when the weather wasn't the greatest. Our greens renovation begins the day after Memorial Day and we should be on the greens sometime in August. We look forward to seeing you again at that time!
Tees and greens need work
I have played this course a lot over the years and usually the greens are excellent, but on this occasion the tee boxes were bare and sandy and the greens had a lot of bare and rutted areas. It might not have been so bad, but they had chosen pin positions which placed these areas close to the pin and often on the down hill side of the hole so you had to putt though them.
Im unlikely to play here again until the greens recover.
We are sorry this was not one of your better experiences with us. We are replacing the greens this summer with Tif-Eagle Bermuda, so this will not be an issues going forward. We look forward to seeing you again in the future.
Greens are on the up and up
After reading the reviews about the greens I was a little skeptical, but they weren’t that bad. The greens aren’t great, but they’re good enough. Some tee boxes were out of shape. Fairways were great. Not a bad course
Thank you for the feedback. The greens are getting better and they will be great once we switch to Tif-Eagle Bermuda this summer. As we come out of dormancy, the entire course will continue to improve as well. We look forward to seeing you again soon.
City Club Course Condition getting better each week
The greens at this course went under some stress last year. Work has been done and they are coming back to true form as I remember them (with a few small spots that needs attention).
Thank you for playing City Club and the kind words. We are just about four weeks away from the start of our greens renovation project where we will be replacing the Bentgrass with Tif-Eagle Bermuda, Once that is done, we should not have issues like these again.
Course is good . Greens are fair to poor
I am budget conscious so I play the best deals mostly. Marrietta city course is ok for the most part, but the greens are lacking consistency. I've had to move the ball right and left to avoid damaged sections in my line .
Greens Need some work
Overall the course is in good shape, but the greens need some help. They are very rough and there are a lot of sandy areas on several of them.
A plus is that the carts have GPS range finders on them, but they also have a function that displays a message that says that you are to far from a cart path and disables the cart. There have been several times that we have had to push a cart back to the cart path to get it to run again. And this appears to be random as to where it happens. The first time we played the course, we drove the cart over to the Lady tee on number with out any problem. The next time we played, the cart died on us and we had to push it up a hill to get back. This also disables the range finder when it happens which kind of kills it's usefulness especially when you are afraid to drive out to your ball because you are afraid that it is going die on you.
Thank you for playing City Club. The greens are recovering and should be just about perfect in time to start the process of replacing them with Tif-Eagle Bermuda in about 4 weeks. We are sorry you experienced difficulty with the GPS system. We have been working with Yamaha and we believe we have the issue resolved. Thank you again and we look forward to seeing you in the future.
We are sorry you did not enjoy your experience. If you could provide some details about how we failed to meet your expectations, we would love the opportunity to do better for you next time.
Play Another Course
While we were warned the greens were a problem when we checked in AT the course, it would have been proper to know this BEFORE paying and showing up to the course. Each green had it's own challenges, but rarely was there a green that rolled true. There were plenty of promises that the greens would be upgraded "in a few weeks," but there was no discount offered for the POOR current condition.
Play Another Course unless the condition of greens don't matter to you. You've been warned!
We are certainly sorry for the miscommunication. We have been trying to let groups know at the time the reservation is booked. If you could please let me know your tee time and day that you played, we can look into the matter further and hopefully avoid this situation in the future. We have discounted rates during this time, once I know your tee time I can advise you of the discount that was applied to your booking. Thank you for the feedback and we look forward to creating a better experience for you on your next visit.
We are sorry you did not have a great day with us. If you could provide some information as to what disappointed you, we can try to do better next time.
Greenskeeper needs to be fired
Greens are in terrible condition. Course needs a little bit of TLC. Annoyed that I paid 40 bucks for a round here. Could not putt because of holes and sand on greens.
Great course
But the greens were terribl!e hopefully by spring the greens will be in better condition
Greens!!!
This is a great course until your ready to put then things get very BUMPY. If they can start now on the greens I feel the will be ready by summer. I really don't know what they're waiting for!!
It has been a rough fall and winter for the greens, but the warmer temperatures of spring along with our new superintendant's plan should see better conditions in the near future.
It was on embarrassing conditions
The green were so bad I stopped trying to putt.. which wasn’t too hard for me. I played just to hit the greens. I’ve never seen greens that were that bad EVER!!
We are sorry that you did not have a great experience with us. Our new superintendent has a plan to revitalize the greens and they should be back as soon as we get some better growing conditions. We look forward to providing you with a more enjoyable round in the future.
Construction
Played this course previously and liked it very much. Now its under huge Greens construction and there was no warning on golf now or by the staff when I arrived. Did the driving range instead because of it. Very inconsiderate by the course and staff for no mention of this. Wont be back even after construction is completed for this.
Greens are poor
So unfortunately their greens are in really poor shape. The grass on them is very poor and although there was an advisory you couldn’t see what that was. I assumed that it was likely a frost advisory as I played earlier in the morning. That is sad as the course is normally okay with some challenging holes and some super easy holes.
Until they fix the greens, I would advise against playing there.
Unfortunately, GolfNow does not have the capability to provide more details on the advisory. We are working on getting the greens back in shape for the Spring and we will then be converting the greens to Bermuda this summer so that we do not have this issue in the future. We look forward to seeing you again and providing a better experience.
Thank you for playing City Club!
