Excellent condition
Played the course for the first time yesterday. It was in mint condition. I love the layout...fair, challenging, and scenic. This course tops many of the country clubs I've played in Florida. I will definitely be back for an extended stay.
Great course!
I am an 18 handicap and absolutely loved this course. We played it 4 straight days and we enjoyed the challenges and beauty of this course. Long hitters can cut corners and get home with short irons. The overall seevice is ok, but it is a state park and I am sure the budget doesn't allow for high ends service and attention but that is ok, we came for the golf.
Balls M I A
Buddy and I had a great time out ended up playing best ball since we both were donating balls to the woods. Lol
Look forward to the next round.
Bring your short game
Very tight, well groomed, lots of fun. Greens roll slow 8 but very true. Ill be back.
Wallace Adams
Great time on a good course.
Wow!
This was my first time playing here in several years. I've never seen the course in better shape. I'm not a member of any course so I play all over the place at many different courses. I've not played a better maintained course in YEARS. And that includes high dollar courses on Hilton Head Island. Meticulously manicured fairways and greens, great rough. No such thing as a bad lie. You can't ask for more. And all for less than $25!. WOW!!!
Great Shape!
The course was in great shape! Totally worth the hour and half drive.
Great course - stormy clean up
Have played here many times. The course is alway in great shape. A recent summer storm had left debris but the staff was working on clean up. My only complaint was that the staff would pull over and allow players to play through but would keep equipment (blowers and mowers) running or idling at full power. It was a bit distracting to attempt to play a shot when it sounded like an airplane was preparing for take off. This is one of the first golf courses I played when first beginning golf and remains one of my all time favorites.
Good conditions but slow greens
Most other reviewers really enjoy this course, and I have to agree with them. It's definitely a hidden gem, not too tough, but enough challenge to keep you interested. When I played here last year, the course was in fantastic shape. This year, not as good but still okay. The driving range was unmowed and beat up, and the fairways were spotting in some areas. The grass on the greens is very healthy and plush, but only Stimpmetered at a 6 (I carry one in my bag). Last year they were a 9, so for some reason they slowed they way down, to the point that putting was very frustrating. Still, a worthwhile course to visit...note to greens staff: Mow the greens, fairways, and driving range!
Amazing Course
Great place to play very beautiful and well maintained the superintendent is doing a outstanding job! Didn't have any problems with the golf course or golf staff but I must say my group is considering other places to stay and play all due to the fact we can not get Mrs.Cindy on the phone or return any calls or emails and we tried for months to book and nothing I understand being busy but to avoid our request for months is non sense and very unprofessional so we stayed in Dublin at the holiday inn not too far of a drive! But set that aside I would recommend this course to anyone the food is great and the staff is amazing Mr.Harry in Pro shop was friendly and Mrs.Marsha did a outstanding job her professional skills are on point and the way she makes you feel welcomed and at home are tremendous the best I have seen yet!! With all that being said we will be back!
Great course, beautiful setting.
I love this golf course. The landing areas for the drives are very generous. The greens are great with just the right speed...not slow and not too fast. Greens are well bunkered. Overall, the course is well maintained.
The pro shop personnel, Harry and Marsha were wonderful. Harry was a joy to be around and talk to. Marsha was exceptional at keeping calm and getting all of the golfers out and playing in an organized manner. Both were very courteous and helpful.
We stayed at the lodge 3 nights. We had breakfast buffet and our group had dinner buffet in a private dining room. The food was delicious and plenty of it.
Can't wait to go back to Little Ocmulgee!
Pace
Watch out for 5 somes which seemed to be prevalent the day we played. Also check out Golf Now, we saved 70%
Pace of play
Prices very good but I saved over 70% using Golfnow Hot Deals! We got behind a 5 some who would not let us through. Later we noticed a number of 5 somes on the coarse, so be prepared.
Great golf course to play with Hot Deal!
We loved playing this golf course, but if it hadn't been for the Golf Now hot deal we would not have played. It is too expensive for seniors on a fixed income!!!
Awesome Course
Can't wait to go back. Had a blast even with 43 degree temp and drizzling rain.
Best course in the south
Had a great time playing at Wallace Adams for the weekend. Great facility and staff. Marsha at pro shop was most helpful and kept pace of play smooth. The whole staff was great. I will be back.
A Golf Gem in the Heart of Georgia Farm Country
I highly recommend this course. It is well laid out and challenging. The greens are in excellent shape and were recently redone with Tift Eagle. They rolled true and the speed was consistent throughout the entire course. In addition, the course was entirely weed free - given the crab grass problem that most of the other courses I play have been having this season this is saying something. The pace of play was a little slow but that really stems from the fact that a lot of people were playing.
A Great Place To Play
Our groups played this course 4 straight days. A great value for a pretty golf course. The lodge has comfortable affordable accommodations and the staffs are outstanding. Every employee demonstrated a keen desire to make our stay and play an enjoyable experience. I will definitely return to play again!
Very good experience
The course was in great shape. It was not crowded. The price was extremely reasonable. I would recommend this course highly.
Great course
This was my first time playing this course. It certainly not my last. What a beautiful track. Course was in perfect shape from tee to green. This is tale of 2 nines, front is fairly narrow and tree lined with the back being a little more open. Agree with a previous user comment in that the back nine as a certain East Lake kind of look and feel. Must say I was surprised with the speed of the greens as they were faster than I thought they would be being Bermuda, rolled very true and smooth. I would recommend that if you get a chance to play this little gem in the middle of nowhere you won't be disappointed.
