One of the best around
Sapelo Hammock is about an hour drive for me, but worth it. Awesome layout, some of the best greens around and roll perfectly. Definitely one of our go to courses
A nice Afternoon
We had an enjoyable afternoon at Sapelo Hammock Golf Course overall. The layout of the course was very good and made for a fun and interesting round. The pace of play, however, was quite slow due to a five-ball flight in front of us, which affected the rhythm of the game.
The fairways were on the dry side, but the greens were in good condition and rolled nicely. One downside was the customer service in the pro shop. The young man there could benefit from some customer service training, as he came across as rather unfriendly. The lady at the halfway house was okay, although not particularly warm or engaging.
Despite these minor issues, we still had a pleasant experience and nice round on this Golfcourse.
Terrific
Great value for the money, I would even go as far as to compare it to May River in Bluffton, South Carolina. Greens are in great shape. Views are amazing. A couple island holes. Good balance of par 3 par 4 and par 5.
Awesome course
The course is in great shape, love playing there.
Challenging. Range balls are included which is a nice perk
Always a treat!
While the two groups in front of us took their sweet time and clocked a 5 hr 18 holes… I still had a great time and played great. Played with two members , Tim and Rodney were an absolute delight and made it all worth it!
Good greens
We are currently in a severe drought in this area, so a lot of courses are struggling to keep up the conditions. The greens here were in very good shape and to me that's the most important part of the course. The rest of the course is pretty good too. Some of the tee boxes were rough. I love the layout and views. I highly recommend and will be back.
60 minutes
Nice friendly Golf course, 60 minutes from St. Simon island.
Will Return
Pleasant experience at Sapelo Hammock. Fairways and greens in good shape, a few tee boxes were sandy but those aren't as important. Good pace of play on a Saturday. Food was shut down by 4 p.m. which was curious. The staff was very friendly and gracious, gave us great tips on where to eat locally. As always, I will return to Sapelo Hammock.
Always Enjoyable
We always make time--and an hour drive one-way-to play at Sapelo Hammock when we spend time in GA. The course is a lot flatter than what we are used to in the Northeast, with less "rough," so it's a good early springtime warmup for us. Staff are always congenial and accommodating and pace of play never an issue. I love the atmosphere of the course.
Sapelo 4-17-26
Tees and fairways in excellent shape. Greens in very good shape given the drought and harsh winter. The older guy outside with the beard was awesome. Riley was super nice too. Very much a nice, quiet, low country course. Two thumbs up.
Great Course except #9
Course was in great condition and pac of play was very good. I just don’t like the 9th hole. It gets me every time.
