About Sapelo Hammock Golf Club
Sapelo Hammock Golf Club is a semi-private golf club on the Georgia coast, about an hour's drive south of Savannah. The golf club and community has a small amount of guest accommodations onsite, highlighted by The Eagle's Nest, a two-bedroom unit located above the clubhouse and overlooks the Georgia marsh. There are additional two and three-bedroom units overlooking the 4th fairway.Facts

Great course, out of the way
Great course in good condition. Marshland views on several holes. Greens seem to be in good shape, but they are only cut to roll at average speed.

Great Experience
The course is always in outstanding shape. The layout is challenging but it makes for a lot of fun! I have recommended to anyone that asks me , where would I want a challenge on a well kept course. It is a little ride to get there but it is well worth the trip to have a great time!!

Wonderful Course, Staff are Terrific
Sapelo is a pleasure to play. It has a great many scenic holes, and the layout is very enjoyable. Some of the greens are recovering from some damage, but they did a good job of positioning the holes away from the affected areas. Course seemed a bit on the dry side, but maybe that was just a spring time change as the weather gets warmer and watering demands heighten.

Early in the year
I love the layout of this course! Natural beauty abounds. Greens were recently fertilized so were a bit long and a little slow.. pace of play was very good. I was a single and people allowed me to play through. Staff was very friendly and helpful! Would recommend

Nice place for not so great golfers
Easy to play for beginners and a good course for about any skill level. Everything was nice and everyone was friendly and helpful without being pushy at all. Very quite also except for the birds singing.

Lowcountry charm
Have visited this course many times. Its setting, in the coastal marshes is quite beautiful. Well maintained, interesting layout, but not overwhelming for the state of my game. Nice clubhouse with fair prices.

An Annual Favorite
My wife and I try to play Sapelo during our one-month stay on Saint Simons Island and have always enjoyed its layout in the marsh areas of Georgia's south-east coast. We found the greens this time to be a bit on the slow side but, overall, the course to be in pretty good condition for this time of the year. We were a twosome behind a foursome of mixed walkers and riders (who moved at a good pace, I must say) but who also courteously allowed us to play through at nine. From there on, it was completely smooth sailing and the continuation of a very pleasant day. As for the management, this year the club is offering free range balls for a warm-up, something I think is a very nice addition to its service. We'll be back in 2023.
