Best greens on Saint Simons Island
Played an early round of golf with 3 friends at Sea Palms Golf and Beach Resort. The greens were perfect! We all said the greens were the best greens we had played on our golf outings this week. We played 2 courses on St. Simons Island and 2 courses off the Island. The fairways and rough were also very good. The bunkers need some work as the amount of sand in the bunkers could be improved. The golf course was in such good shape that we booked a tee time for tomorrow morning! If you are looking for a very good golf course to play then Sea Palms Golf and Beach Resort is highly recommended.
Great day
The weather was perfect and the pace of place was perfect, too, as there was no backup at all. The fairways were recently mown and richly green. The greens were the best I have seen them. It was a great day at Sea Palms.
Poor condition
Fairways were a mixture of dirt some Bermuda and weeds
Slow slow play
Called pro shop from 3rd green, 2 foursomes waiting to tee off from 4th, we were soon to be the third group waiting. Ranger shows up 20 minutes later only to say it was a busy day, not that golfers were slow and he was going to do something about it. 9 holes took 2 hours 35 minutes, went back and replayed first nine so i could watch masters which by the way took reeds group almost 6 hours to complete, which also is totally unacceptable.
Nice Couse
Friendly and helpful staff makes this a nice course to play and want to come back to. Course layout is nice and a good challenge for different skill levels. Tees are set to accommodate buddy golf, couples golf or family golf without sacrificing the challenge from each set of tees. Today the greens were in great condition and the fairways were fairly well filled in. Not too many bare or thin spots.
Challenging Greens
Course is nice & tight & has a beautiful layout. Greens can be tricky but are well kept. I enjoyed playing there & will be back soon
Nice layout, greens were exceptional. Fairways were bare in spots due to the rain.
Slow play
Pace of play was 2 hours 45 minutes for 9 holes... had to stop then because at the turn a party of 6 tee off in front of us as we drive up. So it was gonna be even a longer wait... no thanks. Just won't come back...
Interesting Lay Out
Round started in the rain, which made the first couple of holes a little challenging.
Warm and comfortable!
Good course, warm weather in March, good pace, challenging from the back tees
Interesting and challenging layout
Course looks really tight but there is enough room to stay in the fairways. Greens roll very true. Sand traps are consistent with fine sand. Just enough water to make things interesting. Played here 4 times over a 30 day period and enjoyed it very much.
Not that busy
Very nice and very scenic. Not too long and very female friendly Not that busy and 2 of us played the first 9 in hour and half
This guy must have had a bad day on the course. The off course amenities are great and the staff was friendly....same day he played I played. Course was great!
I played this course the same day as this person...I cannot figure out what he was looking at particularly on the greens. I don’t believe this person would know good conditions if they bit him in the rear end....because good conditions just bit him in the rear end. This course plays great
