Beautiful marsh views, great conditions!
Osprey Cove is a beautiful golf course in the Georgia marshland low country. The conditions were perfect from tees to greens. There are several challenging risk-reward shots, but almost always places to bail out if needed. Several greens had significant undulations, but the ball rolled perfectly and all greens were fair, even when not easy. Occasionally, such as on the 7th, 8th, 9th, 15th, 17th, and 18th tees, you just have to stop for a moment and take in the beautiful marsh landscape views reaching from Georgia to Florida.
The signature tee shot, on the 18th, requires a bold shot over a long extension of marsh to reach the fairway. On a windy day, it’s not for the faint of heart!
The staff is very friendly (lots of “Southern Charm”) and the dining area overlooks the joint 9th and 18th greens (yes, one huge green extends to both holes).
The experience was worth every penny!
Great course
Staff really takes care of the course and very friendly beautiful area
Didn’t even get to play!
Booked a tee time and after driving more than an hour to the course, was turned away because the course didn’t update GolfNow to reflect there was actually no availability. Drove more than an hour, on Thanksgiving Day, had to pay in advance, and got turned away.
Course looks amazing in photos - just can’t review much more than the “experience” of their booking error.
Excellent
Course is very well kept, good layout and friendly staff.
Fun track if you’re in the area.
Played Osprey Cove yesterday early afternoon. Pace of play was good, played in 4 hrs and didn’t really wait.
It’s an open course with a few narrow spots, but not many. Some marsh and water along side a few holes but plenty of room to play. Course conditions were pretty good, greens were nice and fairways good. Tees were a little worn from play I would guess. A few very scenic holes along the marsh to break things up.
Staff very nice with no issues. I wouldn’t go too far out of my way to play but if you’re fairly close it’s a fun , fair course that’s worth the GolfNow price..
I’d play it again if in the area.
2 for 2
Second time playing this course and it lived up to the first impression the first time I played in April. I highly recommend this course, and I will definitely play here again. To the Osprey Cove staff inside and outside keep up the good work.
Cheap Tee Time for a Reason
The $48 rate is because you’re directly after the women’s group. Everything else was great but the rate was “good good to be true.”
What All Development Course Should Be
Without question Osprey Cove is the best course in the North Jacksonville area. It is as good if not better than the high priced courses on Amelia Island and parts of coastal Georgia. Tough to choose between Osprey Cove and the Lakes Course at the Walker State Park in Waycross GA., but the edge goes to Osprey Cove due to proximity, at 1/3 the driving time.
Love this golf course
I love this golf course. I live 50 miles away and tee times are only available in the afternoon but I still try to come play it at least once a month. Fortunately in the afternoon there aren't a lot of golfers playing. The members usually play in the morning. The course is always well maintained. The practice areas are excellent as well. So please don't come....I want this gem to myself..
