Osprey Cove is a must play in SouthEast Georgia area
Osprey Cove is first class golf outing. The fairways and greens are in exceptional condition. The staff is friendly. Osprey provides a very nice range that includes free range golf balls, club wash, practice chipping green, putting green, and a bunker. The pace of play is over 4 hours. Riding is optimal because the course covers a huge amount of land are with large distances between some holes which makes walking the course a challenge. Even though I have to travel an hour to play, I will keep playing because it is one of the best layouts with doglegs and marsh views along with an attractive subdivision and area.
Osprey Cove course review
Course was in excellent condition. Greens were quick and responsive. Enjoyed my round.
Beautiful Course
This was our first time playing this course and we will definitely be back. The staff were friendly and the course was in terrific shape.
First time visitor review
Great layout, enjoyed the design aspects of this course as it is a true lowcountry type of experience.
The course was cart path only as the conditions were wet which was unfortunate in that I would not have booked this had I known due to a knee replacement which makes lots of walking fairly painful. The staff when I let them know I was not made aware of the cart path only status upon booking had no love for me at all and basically said take it up with GolfNow. So I sat on hold for 30 minutes with GolfNow with zero help or anyone picking up the phone so I gave up and decided not to eat my $130 and make the best of it. Asked the golf staff if I could get a disabled flag to ride with and steer clear of the obvious wet areas and the pro was in his office only feet away and could not be bothered as he and his staff didn't bother to even entertain the question but instead simply told the front desk attendant no and gave it no consideration at all. Again, really nice representation of the PGA of America's ethos on display by this golf staff....
Greens were better than average. Pace of play was lousy in that we had to skip 2 holes as a 4 some in front of us simply would not be courteous and wave us through as a two some who was literally right on their heels. Golf etiquette is not on display at this facility... After skipping two holes we made our way around the course in decent time despite all of the walking that cart path only brought with it.
Would I play it again? Yes but for a discounted rate only so as to offset the BS that came with this round it would not be worth the money otherwise. The members seem unhappy as we were in the clubhouse at the turn getting a few refreshments and upon learning that we were not members were all but shunned which felt terrific as a guest...
Long story short, great course, bring your thick skin to put up with nonsense, but do play it as the layout is really good and the double green on 18 is really a nice feature. Just don't expect to be treated very well and if you can put up with that then go give it a go.
Play it (Golf)Now or Join
Play it while available on Golf Now or join when it’s not. Easily the best course available to then general public in the area. Priced correctly. Greens are very good and overall conditions for time of year and weather is also very good. We vacation on Amelia Island it’s only 20 minutes to the Cove.
Beautiful Layout and surroundings
This course is amazing. We played it after days of nonstop rain and the greens were still fast as ice. Great location between Savannah and Jacksonville this is where I’ll meet my Jax buddies for a weekend round from now on.
Private Gem
On my way to Spring break. What an excellent course near the Florida/Georgia border. Private club that really treats their guests with Southern hospitality. It did rain on us on about 4 holes but the course and bunkers drained well. Very scenic, half dozen holes right on the marsh. Would recommend to anyone who gets the chance to tee it up here as the routing is interesting and the course conditions are top notch.
Pricing
A bit high $$, but nice layout and reasonable with golfnow app.
Ice Rink
What the course lacks in distance, it takes from you around the greens. Fun design, great conditions, greens are scary slick and firm as handshake from Georgia.
Awesome Condition and Layout
It was an hour drive to this course but will definitely be back, we had an amazing experience on a perfect day. Course lay out, condition, greens, t boxes all in very good condition. The holes by the marsh and the osprey nests were very cool to see. Also hats off the servers and kitchen staff as we came in 5 minutes before closing and they were close so I’m sure the kitchen was mostly finished but were nice enough to serve as. We were starving and had a good 20 minute drive from the course to get food so it was very appreciated!
