Great!
Course is in great shape with excellent greens. Enjoy the first two holes because the rest of the course is a challenge.
Won’t return
Course layout is pretty tough but fair. Pro shop attendant was very unfriendly. Allowed two groups to tee off on 10 in front of my group as we made the turn. When it was brought to his attention, he basically said “too bad”. Greens were slow but had good grass on them. Like the course but won’t return to be treated so rudely. Was also cart path only on a beautiful sunny, dry day. Too much hassle for me.
Bunkers Much Improved
I have played here many times. Course was in good shape for the time of year. Fairways not yet grown in, and greens were a bit bumpy, but ok for early Spring. However, the recent bunker project has been a vast improvement. Some of the bunkers have been reshaped or eliminated, but all now have great sand to hit out of. Also, the drainage in 17 fairways is being improved as well. Want to come back when the course greens up to see how all improvements have come together.
Course Under Construction Paid Full Rate
There was no mention of it being under construction before booking and no discounted rates.
Every sand bunker was unplayable. Several tee boxes were dug up and unplayable. Had to tee off on the side on the hill. Heavy equipment on the sides of green.
All this would be fine if I knew before hand but there was not a word of it spoken when paying at the clubhouse.
Spoke with manager afterwards he said they never discount rates for construction or aeration.
Fun scenic round
The course is hilly and challenging with great views. Several bunkers and areas were under repair. I look forward to see the improvements when completed.
Love playing here
I come here often and always enjoy the course. Thry are working on sand traps now so that'll be a future challenge as well.
Challenging
A course in the middle of Mountains
Very challenging and we had to follow the instructions in the descriptive guide otherwise it is easy to be in trouble
Just one bad note the type of grass for the green would require to be rolled more often as they become a bit bumpy
Highland Walk March 20
The course layout is great. Still wet from the weather, cart path only, but still a great round.
Feb 2022
Greens too slow an inconsistent
Bunkers need a lot of work
If you want to play great fast greens go to Hard Labor creek
Drove 1 1/2 hours to play this one but was disappointed
Could have driven 15 min for a better experience
Wide open with great views
The GA state courses are not easy but Highland Walk is in great shape (especially considering it's winter) and very worth the drive. There are some hills to navigate (you'll feel it in your calves the next day, even with a cart, I can't imagine walking here really) but most holes are wide open off the tee, and there are some steep ups and downs which can make scoring difficult but the openness makes it a mostly comfortable, enjoyable round. The staff is friendly and the practice area is nice too. We go to get out of the city. I enjoy the farmland on the drive in and out. And another point on scoring, the greens are in great shape but pay attention to the grain because it matters here. Support our state courses, they're nice!
