Beautiful winter gold day
Our favorite course, and again a wonderful day in the North Georgia lowlands; on a wonderful course that we feel is the best in Georgia. Our feelings are also echoed by the increasing number of people who are now playing this course. Come play this course if you want a challenge. If you can get around a couple over par from the blues, then you can play anywhere. There is also scenic views and lots of wild life.
Great course
This course is my favorite cause it’s a challenging course an it’s always kept up really well! Tee box’s could use a little work but thats every other course I feel like! But all in all great place to play!
Hidden gem
Possibly the best greens I’ve ever played on! The Bermuda grass is a little long for the winter so the grain direction was a big factor on every putt. Low-traffic course so the greens were so soft, felt like walking on a gymnastics floor. Placement is key, I had many straight putts around the hole, but if you hit the far side there is some crazy double and triple breakers. Fairways were dormant and took nice divots, however they were pretty tight lies with lots of dead grass... no bald or dirt spots and very minimal muddy runoff areas. Tons of elevation change, a birds-eye gps is a MUST HAVE.
Great weather great fun
The greens were perfect as were the fairways. Great staff and great carts. Well worth the beautiful drive in the country. I’ll play again soon! Thanks for the hospitality!
Pretty course, great value, off the fairway is dead, blue tees play longer than you think
This course was in great shape! The bermuda greens were a little shaggy (they did not cut them the morning I played because there was frost the night before, which makes sense), but the condition of the grass was excellent. Beware that holes 1 and 2 are deceptively 'easy' - the course really toughens up after the first 2 holes. Lots of forced carries to reach the fairway, lots of uphill and downhill shots. You will feel like you are hitting across ravines a number of times. I was not accurate off the tee and that made this course extremely challenging. Fairways are narrow. LOTS of elevation changes. We played the blue tees because the yardage on the card looked right for us, but they play much longer than the yardage listed in my opinion because of all the elevation changes. The tee shots are visually intimidating if you've never played here before. However, a great value for the money and the course was in really good shape, and not crowded at all!
Fall wonderland
Leaves changing color, greens in wonderful condition; course playing great. Always a great course to play; providing plenty of challenges. You have to be in control of your game to play the course well.
Always the best
My wife and I play various courses around North Georgia and even courses not listed on Golf Now. We always come back to Highland Walk because it is the best in every category. The Management, Course Conditions, Layout and Value for money. We all play golf to have a fun time, challenge ourselves and improve our games. Some courses don't manage the pace of play, or they over book the course so there are four groups on one hole. Not highland walk. A great course to play, and one that presents you with some challenging shots off the tee; and from the fairway.
