Highland Walk
Another Great Course in Georgia, played early, greens already cleared the weather was perfect. The Staff was very friendly, marshall even helped search for a lost ball. Greens in great shape, only one green had some weather damage and will need time to heal. Fairways were great tee boxes level and in good shape. Overall great experience and look forward to playing again her.
State Park Golf
I have played this course numerous times, it is a good course to take your kids to go play, as the Junior rate was $10 for 18 holes. ( My son is 7 years old) Few easy holes, a few not so easy holes, good course to work on shots. 1st hole is all down hill and drive able for the better players, lots of Elevation changes are what make this course challenging. On the 7th hole make sure to just punch one down the hill with a long iron and let it roll to the bottom of the hill, if not be prepared to lose or have to punch out.
Pace of play mkes it enjoyable
Has small weather delay, but once we teed off was able to play at a good pace. Never felt hurried or had to wait for group in front.
Beware of the "Rangers"
I've played at this course literally hundreds of times going back to when it was a 9-hole course in the 1980's. Never had an issue with any of the people there until yesterday. I booked a tee time for two on GolfNow. We were paired up with another twosome upon arriving-which was fine. Upon coming off the 6th green, we were literally screamed at by a "ranger" who was riding around in a golf cart. He yelled at our foursome to "quit talking about what we didn't do" on the last hole and that we were 1 1/2 holes behind the pace of play and that we needed to get moving. All four of us looked at each other as he drove off. We didn't feel like our pace was slow at all. We putted out on the 9th green exactly 2:06 after teeing off on 1. Since there was a foursome on 10 tee box I went to clubhouse and let the manager know what was going on and he apologized. We played the back 9 in a little less than 2 hours meaning we had played 18 on a Sunday afternoon in exactly 4 hours. The course is in good shape but my whole experience was ruined by the incident on #6. Even if we had been playing slow, the right way to approach the situation would have been to ask the group to speed up. The fact that we played in 4 hours infuriates me. We never saw this person riding around again, but I'm assuming he was a "volunteer" who does this in return for golf privileges. Either way, something is wrong with this picture, especially at a State Park golf course. Who has someone like this interacting with the public? Just a beautiful day ruined by one individual.
Highland walk golf course
The course is in great condition. The greens are in great condition and the staff is friendly and helpful. A lot of slope!
A challenge
For me this was quite a challenge. I was able to stay in bounds for most holes. The lay of the land was the most challenging. Great scenery and the course followed the contours of the mountains. I enjoyed this course. I am use to playing a flat course in the Midwest. This put some spice in the game. Polite staff and helpful. Nice clean clubhouse and a place to grab a hot dog and soda at a fair price. Had a great day playing golf. I will definitely play again.
Great Course
First time and surely won't be last. Course in excellent shape greens outstanding holds shots and rolls true.
Get what you pay for
It's cheap but the course is not in the best conditions. The greens are messy, and the areas near out of bounds are not great.
Beautiful, well maintained
This is one of the best munis I've seen. Great layout. Great use of the rolling foothills of Northeast GA mountains.
Perfect greens!
For this time of year, the best greens anywhere! The dwarf Bermuda is fast and dense. A challenging course for mid handicap golfer and great fun. Weekdays are nearly empty. The best kept secret in North Georgia! My favorite destination despite the 1.5 hour drive. Excellent value!!!
Highland Walk
Best course for the money in Northeast Ga
Golf round
Pace of play way too slow. They were allowing far too many twosomes, rather than pairing groups up. It took over 2 hours to play 9 holes, when I had played 18 holes in right at 2 hours the week before
Great Golf Experience
I had a great time playing at Highland Walk. I've played this course many times and the condition of the course always seems to get better and better. I would recommend this course to any avid golfer.
Not Many Level Lies
Better than expected in terms of beauty and harder than expected in terms of difficulty. The fairways range from a few that are very wide to several that are tight. Once your ball rolls off the tilted fairways into the natural woods, you are not likely to find it. I had more lost balls here than I have had in my last 30 plus rounds at the UGA course. Most lies are not going to be flat, which makes for a nice looking course, but definitely contributes to the difficulty factor. The first two par 4s are short, but the rest of them are "Big Boy" par 4s. I will play this course anytime, but the next time will be for revenge. I'm a 12 HC and shot 98, the highest score since I was a pre-teen (I'm 61). The GA State Park courses are to be complimented, and this one is no exception. I'm a walker, but we rode. Good call. It would have been easier to walk 10 miles on the Appalachian Trail, but that's OK---loved the ride and the scenery. The friendly staff made a difference too. They had a tournament going on but got us out ahead of our ttime and made sure we got around with no delay from the tournament. Thanks. We will be back---for revenge.
Spectacular!
I was going to be in the area and found this course on Golf Now. It is a beautiful course that tests your ability at every level. The elevation change makes you think you are high in the mountains. I will definitely make the three hour trip to play this course again.
Great Golf
The course is beautiful . Well layed out with lots of scenic views and rolling hills. The course has it's challenges that include elevation changes and twice teeing off over ravines and once over water. The pace of play is great. No one coming along to hurry you up. So go and play and enjoy a great day on the course. Excellent value. I will definitely play here again
NICE COURSE, NICE PEOPLE
I will play here again. The price is really good. Course is in good condition. It was difficult to find level ground on some of the tee boxes. If you like slow greens, this is your place. Greens were about a 1 on the stemp meter. There were some holes where I putted several balls across the green and never did get the ball to the hole. They are a little slower than Torrey Pines. Fun course to play though. Definitely play from the Blue tees.
Worth every minute
Great staff, great cojrse, definitely challenging but fun. Definitely worth it. Will be visiting again.
Love the state courses
Another great lay out and round for the price. I can't get over the great state courses in ga. Not as good as Hard Labor Creek but it's a good hilly course.
