Can’t beat the pace of play.

Took advantage of GolfNow’s Book-on-Line and saved $65 off resort rate. With the $50 replay I got 36 holes for under $100/round. Both rounds were 3.5hrs and 4.0hrs with a 7:56 start time. Island time means most don’t get going until 10:00am. Beautiful ocean views meant lots of elevation change, but well worth the extra yardage off the tee on downhill holes.

Worth the money

Pretty hesitant about the cost of playing this course, but the Mrs. said go for it as it is once in a lifetime for us.Well, I am certainly glad we did. From the time we set foot on site, to the time we left, we couldn't ask for a better experience.

The course is ideal for an average golfer, fairways are wide and very friendly for women golfers. Plenty of challenges for your to conquer as you make your way around.

Pro shop was helpful, the starter guided us to where to go for hitting range balls and then advice about the course that you need to know before starting.

Plenty of picture taking moments as you wait on the group ahead of you to finish their hole.

To top that off, on this particular warm day, cold wet towels was waiting on you when you finished your round.

This was a great experience and the Mrs. really like the course as she came within 6 inches of an ace on #16

AULUSA

Played after 2:00PM for $115 in 3 1/2 hours. Much rather play Old Blue than either course in Kanapali. Wide fairways in great shape. Layout is fair enough test for avg player. My wife almost broke a hundred from the gold tees. The greens are pretty quick and have a lot of subtle breaks that are hard to pick up if you only get to play the course 1-2 times each year. Great value for a very good golf course!

Excellent course. We will be back.

My wife and I stayed in Kaanapali and played the Kaanapali Kai golf course twice (great course but slow pace of play). We had heard good things about golf in Wailea and decided to head south for the afternoon to play 9 holes at the Wailea Blue course. We were extremely impressed with the staff, course conditions, layout, and pace of play. The pro-shop staff was extremely friendly and personable, the course was beautiful, and even though we teed off at 3:30 we were able to play 9 holes in under 2 hours. It was only the two of us and there were very few people on the course. Definitely worth the drive from Kaanapali. We will be back to play a full 18 holes next time.

Excellent Resort Course

Played this with my wife the day after playing the Plantation Course at Kapalua. Stunning views and a course much more playable for the average golfer. Wide fairways, good greens and ample challenges from the various water hazards to keep you on your toes. As good as the course was, the staff was equally poor. Aloof for the most part, they were basically rude when they had to interact with us. It was a pleasure to leave the cart area and the staff there behind and meet a pleasant starter on the first tee box. The round was wonderful, the course pleasurable, but my lasting memory was basically having to argue with the cart staff to get my bags to the pick up point and leave the course in my rear view window.

WORST STAFF EVER!

Although the course was in good condition and the views are great the service at this place is appalling! We showed up and nobody is there to greet you, show you were to go, take your bags etc. We were treated like peons for showing up 5 min before our tee time and we scoffed at when we asked if we could just hit a couple range balls to warm up. After carrying our bags through the clubhouse in search of our carts we we're "greeted" just as we got to the carts and at this point they tried to take our bags to load them on the carts in search of a tip. The round went fine, but upon conclusion of the round we were once again treated poorly by the staff who tried to give us stern directions on where to park our carts and unload after we parked a mere 5' away they jumped in our carts and tried to pull them up before we could even unload our bags. Absolutely unprofessional I get treated better at my local muni course. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE!

How about you don't show up 5 mins before a tee time and then ask to hit range balls??????

Most affordable in Wailea

Of all the courses in Wailea, this is the most affordable. It has beautiful ocean views on several holes. Water comes into play on a few holes.Terrain varies and there are a few blind shots. Course is in great shape and the greens are true. It's not the most challenging course in the area, but is certainly fine for most golfers.

Hard not to have fun

This was my second bite at the apple that is Hawaii golf, and I greatly benefitted from what I learned about the greens the previous day on the Emerald course. Putts do not break as much as you. Putts into the grain and downgrain generally stay in the cup. When putting across grain, read whatever break you see, then halve it. Just my experience. The Gold does not have the elevation change that the Emerald does, and the holes are a little beefier. The back nine is fantastic and the final four holes are really good, especially if you have a good score going and are trying to make pars. The rough is thick here, so don't try to do too much when getting the ball back in play. Driving range was mats only. Expansive putting green was an accurate portrayal of the greens encountered on the course.

Beware the lava rock

This was my first Hawaii golf experience and it was as advertised. Lots of elevation change. Lava rock will really chew up a golf ball if you find one of the many outcroppings that line the fairways. The views, like most Hawaiian courses, are breathtaking. Hard to concentrate on golf at times. This courses, as with the others at Wailea, are extremely playable for all handicaps. Wide fairways and ample greens. Putting tip: these greens do not break as much as they appear. Putts into or down grain generally stay in the cup. When putting across the grain, play half of the break that you read. Just my experience.

Over Priced and Under Served

The course was in reasonable condition. Carts were held to "cart path only" but was not informed of this at check-in. They turned off the cart path restriction after I made the turn but only after inquiring about the restriction.. Said it shouldn't have been on. All carts are suppose to be controlled by software from the clubhouse preventing carts from leaving the cart paths when restriction is in place. Seems cart path restriction is selective because the group in front of me were driving all over the course and had no restrictions. Or they knew how to over-ride the system. Each time I ventured off the cart path my cart would shut down. They were not apologetic and basically told me to live with it, nothing they could do.

Carts were not as clean as I would have expected them to be for an upscale golf resort. Cobwebs and dirt in the cubbies.

Nice course

Only one complaint, the course would not honor my Hawaii Resident card. I was visiting Maui from my home in Hawaii. All my ID and C/C say I live in Hawaii, but this course would not give me an islander rate. However they did make some other accommodation that cost me $20 more than it should have. Kahili GC did accept my Hawaiian resident card.

Wailea Emerald

Absolutely outstanding views of the ocean on numerous holes. Beautiful landscaping on the course. Course was in great condition, but the greens were slow. Awesome happy hour with a phenomenal view after the round.

Good Course in Wailea

The Emerald Course is a great play in Wailea. The course is friendly for all levels of golfers and easily accessible if you are staying in Wailea. I would definitely recommend this friends and family but will probably try the Gold Course on my next visit to Maui before i play the Emerald again.

Excellent Greens

Outstanding course, not to difficult. Greens were in excellent shape. Was set to go out as a single in second group of day. Played with the twosome that started as first group of day. Didn't hurry, played in under 4 hours. Very fair course.

high quality golf. high quality scenery.

played wailea gold on a recent trip to maui. it's full of stunning views! the course itself is in my mind a classic resort course. fairly open to allow any skill level player to have a good time, but interesting enough to keep things exciting for a better player.

the biggest defenses this course has are tiny greens and length. the day i played the wind was calm, but i can imagine it'd be tough with a stiff breeze.

overall, this is a great course that is well worth playing. the view never gets old, and the golf is pretty great too!

Double up on Emeral and Gold

If you are playing Emerald, book on Gold for a full golf experience. Course facilities; driving range and practice putting green very nice. Not as many views as on Emerald but, still grabs your attention on a few holes. Many bunkers on Gold! Greens are smaller than most think. Some forced carries but, not too many to get put you in bad spots. Par 5's for the average player are layups. Gold Course is long even from the resort tees! Overall, the average weekend golfer will enjoy the Gold and the above average player gets a great challenge!
