Disappointment
The overall condition of the course is terrible. Burnt out bare fairways with crabgrass absolutely everywhere including the greens. I'm 63 years old and have played hundreds of golf courses. The Links at Rising Sun is definitely the worst course I have ever played. The place is so bad I didn't play the back nine. This course was on my list of must play golf courses and I have nothing remotely good to say about the terrible condition of the course.
Very Disappointed
The course is in terrible condition. Crabgrass all over the greens and fairways. All the fairways some of the greens are burnt up with crabgrass absolutely everywhere. I'm 63 years old and I played a lot of golf coursesand this golf course was a total disappointment I've been looking forward to playing it for a long time, but I will never play this course again and do not recommend it to anybody. This golf course is on the verge of really needing to shut down
Poor condition
Has potential to be a nice course, but is in horrible condition.
Nice course with a beautiful layout!
First time playing a Scottish style links in the US. This place hits it on the dot as you use every club in the bag and one miss will definitely make you pay. I got very lucky and shot a 74 from the back tees, probably one of the best rounds I’ve had all year. I would highly recommend this course and I’ll definitely be back in the future! The staff was awesome, clearly all veteran golfers who take pride in their work.
Best bang for the $
One of my favorite links courses in the tri state area. Very fun to play and is priced just right for what you get.
Fairway is a must .
Very nice course. Just don't use good balls because if you do there gone if you miss the fairway .
Always worth the return
With hot time, great deal.
Greens in superb shape.
People still don’t clean and fill divots.
Idiots.
Good but bad.
This was a good course, but to be at a casino with little amenities. There was no course cart offering drinks. The course bathrooms were dirty. The few good amenities that was available were the chip and practice green. No Driving range to warmup on.
Disappointed
The staff was nice and helpful. The pace of play early on in the day Was very good. The course was wet from rain The previous night but that doesn't effect my review. Tee boxs were very chunky and damaged, fairways were already showing signs of burnt and dying grass in large patches around the course. The greens were had ball marks that had not been fixed by players or staffing and many of those marks were days possibility weeks old. The worst part I think were the bunkers... I should call them gravel pits with a bit of sand. For the price of this course I was very disappointed with the issues with the course. I have play so many courses that were 2/3 or half the price and maintained a thousand times better.
Will play again
An hour drive for me.
Was it worth it?
Yes. IF the pace of play remains the same.
Greens are in good shape. I still had to fix divots on my lines.
They provide sand to fix fairway divots.
As has become the norm, I saw very few filled with sand.
If the price goes down $10’ish dollars, I’ll make the drive.
Good course
Course was fun to play, 85 degree day and had 15mph winds gusting up to probably 25mph. Down side was greens were very slow, me and my buddies had a lot of down hill puts come up short. Overall good course and fun with some good challenges.
Not the same place
Years ago this place was great ! Not so much anymore. You can tell they are just keeping the course going with the bare minimum. Not spraying for your normal weeds etc…. Bunkers are about unplayable . It’s a shame but you can tell the casino and the course are on limited budget .
Great Shape
It was like we had our own private golf course. Great shape. Great Layout
Fun course
Nice layout with smooth running greens. Good mix of easier and harder holes. Overall condition was very good. A very enjoyable round.
Nice course, lost our tee time
They let us out but had lost our resv. We played behind a large outing but enjoyed the course.
love it
love this course. just wish it was cheaper sometimes. But it was in really good shape. My congrats to the grounds crew.
Course in very poor condition with staff very unprofessional
Our bad experience started with the clubhouse attendant charging us full price and not wanting to honor our GolfNow contracted price. He gave us an excuse that they don’t have that rate on weekends. I didn’t stand for this and after 2 phone calls the attendant made to someone in the management department, I was given the GolfNow price. The attendant did NOT apologize, was very rude, and was “put off” by the fact he had to give me the GolfNow price and issue a cash difference to me.
Secondly, the course was in very unacceptable conditions. Tee boxes were burnt up and had divots everywhere, even on par 4’s and par 5’s! It was obvious the course management team has decided to cut back on expenses and forgo watering on the entire course. This place has gone down considerably both in course excellence and customer service.
After decades of playing this course, I will NOT be going back to this place. Completely unacceptable to have this occur at once was a very nice place to spend a day of golf and eat at the casino.
Sorry to see this place go to the crapper!
