Awesome
Great time with the old man . Staff where amazing and helpful and the course was immaculate! Definitely one of the best rounds I’ve ever played I’ll be back again and again
It’s at a Casino
Course was ok and they are definitely making it better from the bunkers to the fairways. Hot day and only saw the cart lady once so bring extra water.
Improvements Coming
There is a lot of work going on right now . Bunkers are being upgraded , greens have been punched , and there are a few areas under repair in some fairways . Having said all that this course is still my go to Course when we stay at the Golden Nugget . . Hopefully all repairs will be done in the next few weeks to get it back to its best condition . Also hopefully they will unlock the restrooms on the course and bring back the water and ice at the two restrooms on the course . Give it a try !
Course > Staff
Course great! Staff, less than poor. No assistance, no communication, young girl at front desk showed no interest in being there, let alone in golf, no help with bags - two young guys, sitting by bag drop, playing on their phones, not really interested in helping their guests. Unfortunately for a nice course, I will not return simply due to the poor staff.
Contraband Bayou
Outstanding course—excellent staff-courteous and efficient.
Bunkers are being rebuilt and should the best around very soon!!
Awesome course
Course is awesome. Rated it a 4 because most of the bunkers are being worked and are still not playable. Other than that, course is in great shape.
Course conditions
The golf course was in great condition and the staff was fantastic. will do it again real soon
Disappointed
I was very disappointed. The course was not in shape to play. They are working on the course all over. The bunkers are all being reworked. The greens were not in good shape at all. All dead grass and what was there was clumps. Would not have went if I would have known the course was in that kind of shape.
Nice layout but in the middle of post freezing / hurricane damages.
Went to LC for a weekend golf / gambling getaway. Was able to secure relativity cheap greens fee and now understand why. First the course layout is very nice especially the back 9 which has more woods / trees than the front. Golf carts were relativity new and in good shape - also had the onboard screen for yardage and layout. However the condition of the course was poor - greens were thin and weedy - tee boxes were were thin too. Fairways were thin too but appeared to just need fertilizer and warm weather to grow. The sand traps were in the process of being rebuilt and were not playable - this was unfortunate as the design of the traps would offer a challenge. Hope the rebuild and grow / maintenance improves b4 I’ll play there again.
Been a lot of years since playing Contraband
This course still shows signs of having to recover from the two hurricanes. Most traps are still with a clay base after having the wind scour all the sand. A few have had the sand replaced with high quality soft sand. Wind was howling at over 20 mph. First few holes are into the prevailing southeast wind. Being a senior, I found I had to move up to silver after three holes. The fairways are nice. The greens a bit unpredictable due to new grass coming in after the freezes. Rest rooms on the course were locked. No snack bar. No crackers although the cart ladies were frequently coming around. Golf carts have the GPS.
