Contraband Bayou Golf Club At L'Auberge Du Lac

I would not recommend booking this course through the GolfPass app. Our group was forced to stop after completing only six of 18 holes due to a storm, yet our green fees were not refunded or credited. Even after the weather cleared, we were unable to return to the course and finish our round.

The course itself was also badly torn up in several areas and did not meet our expectations. Overall, this was a very disappointing experience. I would not trust GolfPass for this booking and recommend choosing one of the other golf courses in the area.

Chose to play Contraband instead of the course at he Golden Nugget. The layout was nice. Greens weren't in the best shape which is to be expected this time of year. I will play again in the spring.

As a Lake Charles native, this is one of my favorite courses. But as of August 28th, the greens are rough. They have 5 or so “temporary greens” (hole in the middle of the fairway) because the greens have gotten so bad. The greens you do play on are bumpy and inconsistent. Also we went on a Friday at noon and didn’t see a cart girl until hole 17… just a tough spot right now.

I paid almost $80 per person for twilight fees. I paid it because I like the course. Little did I know that there were at least 6 holes with temporary greens. If I would’ve known, I would’ve played somewhere else. Or at least make the green fees less expensive and let people know about the course. I feel like I was ripped off.

Greens were bad : grass clippings all over ! Save your money and go to Gray Plantation!

Booked a tee time not knowing that the greens were under repair. Even the greens that were not under repair needed to be under repair. For being a ( Casino Course ) i thought this course would be in much better shape. They have really let this course go over the last couple years. Guess i should've know that i was getting a HOT deal for a reason.

Showed up to find out we had three temporary greens. Only two greens didn’t have large burnt out spots. Fairways were in good shape. The pro shop didn’t tell us about temporary greens the starter did.

I have always enjoyed playing this course, I was very surprised to see the conditions.

We were nervous, cause we haven’t never played on a course that Big and fancy and the staff made us very comfortable

Until the conditions with several greens are rectified, and I'm aware there are being addressed, the course is outrageously overpriced at this time.

There are major green turf issues on the entire property. Fairways were full of piles of grass clippings. Not a good showing.

When making reservation I should have been alerted the greens were punched and sanded the day before I played

Upon check-in, we were informed that the driving range is closed, due to a "tournament" next weekend. Then we were advised that hole #4 is out of service, due to a water line leak.
