Mud
Muddy no grass. T boxes terrible. Weeds very little grass.
Beautiful
The only reason I couldn’t give the course conditions a five rating is because on the day of play the course had just reopened from a couple day shutdown due to rain. It was extremely wet. Fair ways and tee boxes were slush. It probably should have remained closed a few more days. The greens were great but a little slow due to being wet. If you plan a round bring mosquitoe repellent as for any south Louisiana courses it is a must.
Good challenge but fair.
Played on a hot Monday morning. Course in very good shape. Greens recovering from recent aeration, but it didn’t spoil the fun. Will play again when we are in Lake Charles.
Aeration Alert! !!
GolfNow is usually great alerting us to course condition. We drove 60 miles only to find sand filled holes on all 18 greens. The pro shop didn't even say a word as we checked in. We understand the need and appreciate the effort. Be warned of recent aeration. That's all. Geat course.
Course was in good shape , Greens need a little work but overalls very nice for the price.
Fairly Easy but Great Course
Course was pretty simple with the majority of the holes being straight shots. But the well-placed bunkers and the amount of water and trees kept things interested. Grass wasn't quite as green as I would have hoped, but that's just how summer goes. Will definitely be back for another round. (With a Hot Deal of course)
Great Course
One of the best courses I have ever played!!! Challenging but fun!!!! Regardless of your handicap you should have a great time!!
Will Not Return
Played for a weekday rate of $94. After completing the round, I wanted to go ask for a refund. In my opinion, the course conditioning equated to a $25 greens fee. The tee boxes, fairways, & greens were full of weeds. The course was featureless short of a few holes. The bunkers were the only part of the course that was well maintained. We traveled 2+ hours, from Houston, to play this course and felt like we wasted our time. The young lady in the pro shop was courteous but became easily confused. The man that assisted her was not very courteous. The pro shop was well stocked but prices were a little extreme. I can say with certainty that I will not return.
really good course at a very reasonable price.Easy to book.
Contraband Bayou Golf Club
course was in excellent shape. staff was extremely friendly. there was some wind but not to bad.
One of my absolute favorite courses. The conditions of the fairways are amazing. The landscape and the entire layout have never failed to impress. I’ve played there more than 10 times so far and every time i go i come away just wanting to play it again. The is the only course to play while visitng the casinos.
1st time @ Contraband.
Nice course and not difficult. Only issue was had was that the greens were full of sand. I asked 3 different workers before playing including calling in advance how the greens were and they all stated they were great. Besides that (and the 20+ mph winds), we had a good time.
Excellent Course!
I played in the morning on a hot deal from golfnow.com. First time to play the course and the course is in magnificent shape!! FOR SURE going back!!!
Loved it
The carts have GPS. There are apples in barrels on some tee boxes. Snack cart even on weekdays.
Fresh cold apples on start of each nine is a nice courtesy . One of the best tracks in this area. Only draw back is course doesn't dry out for a while after rain--although we have had excessive amount of rain lately. Still played longer with damp conditions. Greens are better than they have been but hopefully get better into spring.
Friendly folks and a free apple makes for a pleasant experience.
