It is an outdoor playground for all ages thanks to Deep Creek Lake and an endless array of mountainous adventures: canopy tours, segways, mountain biking, a mountain coaster, disc golf, 36 holes of regular golf, gem mining, pontoon boat tours, whitewater rafting and flatwater kayaking. The Fantasy Valley and Lodestone golf courses both boast soaring scenery. Lodestone, designed by Hale Irwin, features some of the largest greens on the East Coast.Facts

Signature Hole #17 Photo submitted by NateRamsey on 04/13/2013
Greens very quick! No sand trap maintenance. No. 10 green burned out.
Fantasy Valley golf
Course needs a lot of tree trimming. On 17 the senior tee has branches overhanging that you clip in your backswing. on 16 any tee shot the is slightly left is going to hit a branch.
Beautiful golf
Great but challenging course
Lots of tees to find your match.
Fun, challenging course
Course was in good condition aside from a couple burned spots on the edge of greens, and a bit damp on some of the fairways. It played hard for me from the silver tees (I usually play blues), lots of ups and downs so we had to place balls more accurately than usual.. I shot about 10 over my normal score, so lots of room for improvement. Friendly staff and no pace issues.
Yellow Tees
Fun from the up tees. Mostly irons off the tee box. Greens are firm, fun and fast. Crazy undulations and have to hit it to the correct portion of the green. Would love to go back. Good value $95 on a Tuesday in August.
Fun Course to play.
Pace was slow, but managable.
Yes and No
Great layout, subpar conditions. I can see why this course has been rated among the top in MD in the past. The bones are there, that’s for sure. However, outside of the greens, the staff seems to have given up on maintenance. The bunkers are completely run down with weeds and rocks and many fairways have wet spots drenched enough to swallow your foot. There aren’t a ton of golf options in the area which makes me think they’d be more up to speed on their conditions. However, this is more of a $50 course being sold as a $90-100 course at the moment. I hope they get back to their glory.
Resort course
Rain fell the night before I played the course, plus a little rain for the first 2 holes. The course did not drain well. The middle of the fairways stayed very wet and unplayable.. The bunkers were playable but need a lot of work. The road to the course is gravel and not in the best shape, and the clubhouse is a bit on the small size. For the good, the green complexes were some of the best I have seen. The course layout is just beautiful. This is a great $79.00 course not the $119.00 normal price.
Course in Poor Shape
The course is not maintained at all and in very poor conditions. Practically the bunkers are like concrete and you cannot hit a ball out of them.
It was a tight course to start with and with the rough not being maintained, you either lose the ball easily or you end up hitting a bad shot from the thick rough.
Pay a little extra and play some of the other courses - you will be much happier, especially if you are only in Deep Creek Lake for a few days
They have moved around the holes so much that my Garmin could not keep up and never got a proper reading
worth the ride
While I live more than an hour away from this course, the ride there was definitely worth it. The course is challenging and it will require a variety of shots to score well. The conditions were excellent with the glaring exception of the sand traps (technically, they'd have to have SAND in them to call them that) but given all that the course offers, one could overlook that shortcoming. It is a good layout with some tight fairways. A good challenge.
Great course!
The course is in great shape!
This is easily one of the most scenic courses in the area.
Tough green complexes with lots of undulation. If you aren’t on the right level tho, look out!
Greens rolled quick and true and would hold an approach shot.
Would definitely recommend!!
