Absolutely beautiful
Very very nice course not easy but fair will definitely play again
Stunning
Highly recommend making this a stop for any golfer! The visuals alone make this course worth visiting. Course was in excellent shape and the food at the on site grille were bonus perks to the views!
Beautiful course near Detroit
I was in town for an event. I found this looking at the area and was very happy with the decision. Beautiful course and condition was great. 4:15 round. I would honestly put in in my top 10.
Always Liked
Pace of play was bad but can't expect much over weekend
Golf by the Lake
Course never disappoints. Numerous options for different tee configurations. Great amenities. Challenging course layout. Greens were in fantastic shape. The scenic views along the lake are an added bonus. Would highly recommend.
Bad day
Normally well kept but the greens were beat up. Pace of play was horrible; no starter keeping people on time.
Golf Course Pairings
I enjoy golfing at Eagle Crest - this is the first course I ever played - my concern is that at the end of the day pairing my wife and I with two players that were riding was not a good decision especially when I saw twosome on the course. It was 6:30 pm.
Please consider case by case scenarios when it is this late in the day.
Thanks
Nice course- overrated
I found the course to be in good condition. However, the rough was a bit long and we lost balls that should be easily found. Taking strokes for no reason isn’t fun.
I didn’t find the layout to make much sense due to the fact that you had to turn back on the cart path to the next tee boxes. It felt a bit dicey heading toward the group behind you while they’re playing at you.
We also encountered guests of the resort walking the cart paths and standing in front of greens taking pictures while we were trying to hit our shot without killing someone.
Gorgeous Course, Gorgeous Day, but Don't Love My Tee Time Being Moved w/out Communication
Had a 2:10 tee time confirmed for a midday Thursday round for my buddy's birthday, which he took off work for. When I showed up for tee time, I was made aware that our tee time had been bumped back by not one slot, but two to accommodate our twosome getting paired with another (now teeing off at 2:30). Not a huge deal initially, as we just took some extra time to leisurely warm up. Logistically, I totally understand that moving tee times is commonplace to meet high demand, but having it be a surprise when you show up isn't the quality of customer service that I'd expect from a premier area course. This was paired with the fact that we were now stuck by behind a string of foursomes that were playing VERY slow (5:15 pace for 18 holes) and didn't see a ranger out for the entire round. My buddy ended having to cancel his birthday dinner reservations as a result of the unannounced tee time shift + pace of play.
Will say that course was in great shape and weather was beautiful. Have played Eagle Crest multiple times and this was my first bad experience.
A must play
Great course. A little on the pricier side but you get what you pay for - friendly staff, great range, awesome course that was challenging and well maintained, and the pace of play was unreal. I was played as a single at 7:10 - the groups in front of me let me play through and I played 18 in 2 hours and 20 minutes…unreal.
First time this year
I played twilight, but it wasn't very pleasant due to play pace vs it's price
Cooler patrol
Not until you show up and find out you have to carry your bags in and cannot bring your own cooler or alcohol!!?! Might sound stupid but please put this out there for people to read.
Twilight Round
I lived in Ypsi for 10 years, and every time I play this course I forget I am still in Ypsi. 6pm on a Saturday for $40 there is not a better deal on the planet. No one in front of us, no one behind us. It was perfect. The course is extremely challenging. Would play again
