Important to understand rating
Let me start by saying that my rating has everything to do with the course not having a ranger, and the fact that after driving almost an hour and a half, I had to leave after the 12th hole. The course is super cool as far as layout. Conditions were good as well, not the best, but certainly worth playing. However, I was so excited to play the course. They paired me up in a foursome which is awesome because I love golfing with just about anyone. I expected a 4/4 and a half hour round. Every. Single. Shot....was a 5-10 minute wait! There were 4/5 groups of 4 in front of us who were obviously all together. Money was probably on the line, but you would have thought that a PGA Tour card was, judging by the pace of play. Never offered to play through, never talked to a ranger, and finally had to call the front desk to be told "there are a lot of foursomes" that day. Really? I kinda figured. But it does NOT take 20 minutes per hole, every hole! Finally walked off after 4 1/4 hours sitting in #12 fairway. When I called again afterwards, the guy said "sorry, it's not usually like that." Cool.....again. 50$ (hotdeal) and 20$ gas....for 11.5 holes in all reality. However, I wanna say that the people out in the cart barn were super nice. The course is also a lot of fun! It's beautiful! But come on peeps, I have a job and a son, I figured taking a day off work would get me back in time to get him from school and afford me a much needed break. I would still probably try again because I love the layout, but only if I knew for certain they had someone watching the pace.
Awesome course for the $$$
Great conditions and course. Challenging and fun. For the money it’s hard to beat in the Detroit metro area
Ranger Ruined our Round
I don't normally leave reviews, this experience deserves a review.
Let me start by saying three of us golfed this time, we are mid 90's a round golfers.
We started our round with a quick stop at the clubhouse to ensure we wouldn't get thirsty during our front nine. We played the entire front nine without being played up on or playing up on the team in front of us, it was the perfect pace. After the turn we stopped back at the clubhouse for a hotdog and pop. We rushed through the clubhouse to keep the same pace we had all morning. We did all hit 3 balls of the tee box on hole 10. our cart told us we were eight minutes behind pace. After teeing off on the 11th hole the ranger approached us. he said "Do you know the team in front of you is teeing off on 15 right now? I need you to pick it up!" I asked if the team on 15 stopped at the turn to get refreshments at the clubhouse cause we did. He didn't know or seem to care. As he was telling us how far behind we were I watched the team behind us tee off on 10 a longer par four, they still weren't playing up on us. After having our lovely chat with the pleasant ranger we were 16 minutes behind pace, according to the carts GPS. He showed up again at the tee box on 13, our first golfer to tee kind of fell apart after our first encounter. He proceeds to tee of and muffs his drive, it goes like 20 feet. The ranger laughs and says "Yeah you defiantly need to play a scramble, if you don't start moving I'm going to move you." For the rest of that hole we played best ball and got to the point where the cart said we were on pace. Fortunately and kind of unfortunately we didn't see him again. I could understand if we had teams plating up on us but we didn't see another team until the ranger stopped us. I thought playing a course that was $70+ it would have been a better experience.
The course was very nice and in very good shape, the greens were nice and defiantly challenging.
I love this course, so does everyone else
This is an amazing course.
During peak season expect 4.5-5 hours for a round.
With that said it won’t stop me from playing it.
Beautiful course
Challenging course with lots of holes by the water. Very impressive.
Excellent conditions and challenge
A+ course condition combined with water, sand and lots of elevation change.
Beautiful Course
Was happy to get out in the beautiful weather. The obstacles provide a refreshing challenge to the course.
