Candlestone Golf Resort

Love this course. One of the best courses for the money around.

Haven't played Candlestone before. Weather was perfect and got a good rate from Golfnow so we thought, why not?. Glad we did. Course was in excellent condition except their tee boxes. Could use some work there. Expected there could be slow play with the perfect weather, but was pleasantly surprised. They book correct tee times so this didn't happen. Will surely play here again and would recommend to friends.

Candlestone was an incredibly pleasant surprise and is the epitome of why you “don’t judge a book by its cover”. Once you get past the gravel parking lot, modest pro shop, divey bar and grill, and get on the course, you quickly realize Candlestone is a hidden gem.

The greens were firm and fast and were in excellent condition. From subtle breaks on a few postage stamp sized greens to several two-tiered larger greens - they all feel unique and reward good golf shots. 5 different pin positions allow for much variety.

Each hole plays unique and there is a good mix of challenging holes, like the 216 yard par 3 15th, and easier ones, like holes 1 and 10, which are straight away par 4s.

The tips play over 7,000 but the blue tees at 6655 prove to be challenging enough. There isn’t too much water that comes into play, but most holes are carved out of wooded areas which will swallow up errant shots.

I was impressed with how well maintained the course was, especially considering it receives a good amount of play. The greens and fairways were immaculate.

Candlestone is one of the best value courses I have ever played! A must for anyone in West Michigan!!!

Great course conditions. Challenging course and well maintained for golf. Facilities were nice and staff excellent. The only update is possibly the cart paths

Played this course a few times and always in excellent shape. Greens were especially nice as well as the fairways. Pace of play was good too. Very nice restaurant and bar for after the round. Highly recommend this course

We arrived about 15 minutes early and were told you can tee off now. You can follow the twosome on the tee. What they didn't tell us was the twosome on the tee

were the end of a golf outing. The pace was slow but we still managed to have a good time.

Had no idea this course existed, as it’s not really close to much. Super pleased with the value and condition of the course! Only issue was we finished the first 9 in 90 minutes, but after we made the turn it was pretty backed up and it took 3 hrs. Overall, however, we were very pleased with how well the course was taken care of and the availability on a weekday afternoon.

Nice course, good conditions, new pro shop that smells like fresh dry wall still. I got there for my tee time, 12:30 on a Saturday, and the guy said “it’s gonna be slow today.” The worst pace of play I’ve ever seen, twice as slow as courses three times as expensive, no ranger. After playing through two groups within the first three holes alone, I joined with a 2 sum because playing through was no longer an option. By the middle of hole 9, the 4 sum of teenage boys in front of the group in front of us had caused a 5-group backup, three different groups waiting on the tee and 2 more finishing 8 right on our heels. Really it was 6 different groups because I merged with another, but I digress. I will not be back. Nicer courses for cheaper fees around here that don’t overbook tee times to the point of ruining my golf game.

This is one of the best rounds in West Michigan. Always enjoy playing at Candlestone

The course is in great condition. The price and value was great. Have fun.

Nice Course, bring your "A" game though as a senior golfer!

This course is a surprising challenge, with well groomed fairways and greens, and eclectic course topography. What a pleasant surprise to play for us blue-collared golfers. And the course keeps getting nicer as time goes on…

This place was above our expectations and the food after was amazing. Will be golfing there again!
