About Gull Lake View Golf Resort

Since the 1960s, the Scott family has transformed 2,000 acres in southwest Michigan into one of America's largest golf resort communities. Situated in the appropriately named Augusta, Michigan, near Kalamazoo and Battle Creek, Gull Lake View Golf Resort has become synonymous with affordable packages where golfers stay in comfortable villas to enjoy six different courses, all from different eras. The East and West courses were built in the mid-1960s and mid-1970s, with the two Stonehedge courses added later in 1989 and 1994. The family bought the Bedford Valley, a classic course known for hosting tournaments, in 1988 and then put the feather in the cap, debuting the linksy Stoatin Brae by Renaissance Golf Design in 2017. Those who fall in love with the experience can buy real estate in one of several neighborhoods.

Sandy

Very playable course but be prepared for a lot of sand traps. Probably, the easiest of the Gull Lake View courses. Staff very courteous and helpful

Nice course

One of our favorite courses in the area. Wish they had electric carts like the other Gull Lake Resort courses.

Hidden Gem

Our group was looking to golf a course with an "up north" feel, but the weather was bad in northern Michigan. In searching for an alternate course I found good reviews of Gull Lake View. Chose Stoation Brae because of the elevation. The views are great, the staff was friendly and the course was in great shape. The pace of play was great - although it may have been slow because there was some light rain in the area. The course is a links style with a layout that played well for our intermediate group. We took advantage of "The Bunker", which is a unique half-way facility with food drinks and restrooms. I highly recommend this course.

Value for the money paid is not there

The course is a nice course but when you consider the price, there are other courses just as nice for half the money.

Installation of new power lines thru

middle of course. All holes not impacted except lost some good trees around 13 green, shame. Played this course over 30 times and moved away. Play it everytime I'm in town. Still love it

Great Course

You can't beat a round of golf in Michigan in August. It's a good course for a hack like me. Though it's a bit hilly, and while I enjoy walking, this course would be a completely different course if I walked it. But it's a beautiful course, with big greens, some water, a few blind hills and dog legs. But it's fun. Definitely worth the trip.

The only other was the pace of play- a Saturday in August saw us stuck behind a couple of foursomes that just couldn't get it together, and wouldn't let anyone play through. Before we ran up on them, 2 of us averaged 10 minutes of a hole. We joined another 2some and we saw 12 minutes a hole. So we're on pace for a 3-3.5 hour pace.

We ended up having a 5+15 minute round. Which was recovered only by the amazing Michigan August weather, and the frequent visit by the cart girls.
