The most challenging course I've played
Plan on playing this course many times. It's in perfect condition, will challenge your distance control and frustrate you on the greens if you put the ball in the wrong spot. You will use every club, and enjoy great views of the rivers, rolling country and most of all the Lake Michigan shoreline.
The tee shots look intiimidating to the eye, but fairways are generous & the greens are extremely severe. From some spots it's impossible to stop your putt within ten feet of the hole, so play your approaches with great care.
I'll be going back for the third time in the very near future.
Beautiful course that plays difficult and is too pricey.
Unfortunately the course had been totally aerated and the 17th green was being reconstructed because the PGA deemed it too severe so that particular green was a temporary green playing 40 yards shorter than the distance the actual green plays.
The course was beautiful, difficult, to play, and too pricey. A few of the holes and some of the greens were definitely built for single digit handicappers although womens tees were quite fair. The on-course staff was very helpful and friendly. The clubhouse staff was friendly but a but stuffy. Some of the areas surrounding the golf course seemed unsafe because of older factories.
Bring your A-game, take full advantage of the practice area and putting green and plan on putting a few big numbers on your scorecard. A camera may also be a good idea to snap a few photos of beautiful Lake Michigan.
the course was fun to play but tough
Great course watched PGA seniors play it had to try it. It is a very nice course but greens are very unforgiving if you land in wrong spot. No other course like it around here. Landing areas from tees are very fair on most holes. Price is very high so can't play it often but if you get a golfnow deal not so bad will play it again.
For better golfers.
You need accuracy to play this course. Driving area is open, but then closes down near the green. Most all greens are undulating and quick. It's a rider, as it's about eleven miles around by cart.
