About Hawk’s Eye Golf Resort

Best course I ever played
I will be back many times. Five hours drive for me but worth it.
Beautiful Northern MI golf
Very scenic course, trees resembling fall.
Nice open fairways with hazards in strategic locations for the long ball hitters.
Greens are super fast (even after aeration and sanding).
We will be returning to play this course again.
Excellent course for the money
When you live in the middle of North Michigan golf country, it's hard to have a favorite course. However, of the six courses within a 15 minute drive, Hawks Eye is my personal favorite. Lots of water, beautiful rolling terrain, few parallel fairways, great views, and challenging enough to make you work. For value, they often have special deals and great twilight rates.
Beautiful views
Many very scenic holes with tees from a variety of elevations. Greens were fast and challenging.
Go play!
Fun northern Michigan course! Plays longer than yardage. Great views!
Beautiful and fun Northern MI course
Very nice course. Well layed out. There is never another hole next to one another. Plenty of forgiveness but not a 'easy' course.
Better than expected after reading reviews here
I went to hawks eye expecting horrible conditions from some if the reviews here. I was quite satisfied with the conditions I found here. Was it the best maintained course I've ever played? No, but nothing to keep me away. Course was wonderful with lots of elevation changes and scenic holes abound. Worth the stop to play. 17 is a beast
hawks eye
WE GOLFED THIS COURSE THE FIRST HYEAR IT WAS OPEN. WE HAVE LOVED IT EVER SINCE. ALWAYS GOLF ONCE OR TWICE THE WEEK WE COME UP. WILL ALWAYS PLAY THIS COURSE. LOVE IT
BEST COURSE IVE PLAYED IN A LONG TIME
I HAD A 1PM T-TIME AND IT RAINED ALL MORNING. WHEN I ARRIVED I WAS ONLY PLAYER THERE AND COMPLETED 18 HOLES IN TWO HOURS THIRTY MINUTES DID NOT RAIN DURING THE ROUND AND THE COURSE DRAINED VERY WELL A SUPERB LAYOUT,HILLY BUT FAIR AND BEAUTIFUL WILL DEFINATELY PLAY MANY MORE TIMES
Challenging
A challenging course for the average golfer. Great views
Needs a ranger
Get rid of hugr green side traps! Get a ranger to stop golfers hitting mulligans every hole!
The course is very picturesque.
Tee boxes were not level or very well kept. Greens were too spongy and did not roll true.
Great course, in not-so-great condition
Hawk's Eye has been a long time favorite course in the Bellaire/Shanty area. It offers variety, can be challenging, but is also fair and very playable. We've been playing this course for more than 10 years during and it's always been in pristine condition, until this year. We were disappointed in the fairways, and in the greens. Lots of brown patches and dead areas. Which was odd, considering the other Shanty courses we played last weekend were in fantastic shape. Hawk's Eye is still a perennial favorite, so I hope and trust the course returns to it's formerly terrific condition.
Great track!!!
Phenomenal design! So many great looking holes with friendly fairways and challenging and well protected greens. Elevation changes on many holes are breath taking. Good test of golf on a beautiful setting!!
Northern Michigan Golf
I put the course at extremely challenging because I have a hard time hitting a strait tee shot. if you hit the ball ball strait you should score well. Lots of rolling hills and some nice elevation changes with great views of Antrim county
Deadspots and a Missing Green Parts
Lots of brown spots and dead grass over the course. One green has sod replaced and it was not careful, leaving small sand bunkers on the green.
Overall, it was a fun course.
One of my favorite courses
I play this course every time I go up north and every time I am amazed at how much I love it. There are a lot of hills and it is challenging. The 17th hole par 5, is one of my favorite holes of all time. It is just a great course.
One of My Favorites
This course is one of my favorites, because of this scenic views. Sometimes the pace of play can be exceedingly slow due to the challenging course. Today, it took nearly five and one half hours to play because there was a group of 20 golfers in front of us and you had to wait on every hole. The course frequently offers special rates and it's a bargain if you're not in a hurry.
difficult but fair
white tees are plenty unless your single digit. great views and excellent condition.
A victim of the golf recession
Hawk's Eye is potentially a great course on a fabulous piece of property. Unfortunately, lack of play seems to have severely limited their maintenance budget. I think they do a good job with the resources that they have.
The course takes advantage of the northern Michigan landscape with plenty of doglegs and elevation changes. Landing areas are fair and generous, greens are very large and undulating. I think you will like the course but will feel as I do, that it is a shame they don't have a larger maintenance budget.
