Inn at St. John’s
About Inn at St. John’s
This unique property became a golf resort in 2006 when the former St. John's Provincial Seminary reopened as the Inn at St. John's, a boutique, four-diamond property adjacent to the 27-hole Brae Burn Golf Club. The 118-room inn features Romanesque architecture, two ballrooms with 25-foot ceilings, a two-story atrium and 22 meeting rooms. The more casual Burger Loft complements the fine dining 5ive Steakhouse and Bar. The course, dating to 1923 before a third nine was added in the 1990s, shares its site with Carl's Golfland at St. John's, one of the country's premier golf stores. There's also a covered, heated range at Carl's to bang balls year-round to prepare for your battle with "The Monster" - the nickname for the 666-yard 13th hole, the longest par 5 in the state.Facts

Pretty Bad shape - needs major investment
Looks like it has little investment for many years. Front 9 were in horrible shape. Would not recommend for the money they are charging. There are many better courses in area. Could potentially be a nice course again with some substantial investment. Wound NOT recommendl unless heavily discounted.
Hi ptocco44. We appreciate you taking the time to review the course and rate us. We are going to pass on your feedback to the teams in charge so they can work to make changes. Thanks for visiting Brae Burn Golf Club. We hope to see you again in the future.
Meh
I’m all for a “beater” course, and this is without a doubt a beater. It’s short and sort of fun, but to charge $27 for nine is a joke. I won’t be back at that price. If it was $27 for 18 I’d be back for sure.
Hello, pmeyers11. Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. We are sorry to see that your overall experience was anything short of 5 stars, but we hope you'll give us another try in the near future.

Ranger!
3 hour front 9. Why people wait on the tee box for people to clear the green on a par 4 is beyond me. You're not going to hit it 300 yards! And when you finally go after 2 groups are staring at you...you duff it into the water. If you golf with ladies..and they aren't good...send them to their tee box to hit FIRST...so I don't have to watch you duff your 300 yard ONCE IN A LIFETIME 50 yards into the water...then sit there and watch the ladies sink 4 balls straight into the water too. Pace of play!!!

Enjoyable afternoon.
90 degree day, no breeze. Course was fair, greens quite tricky. A bit slow at times, good value for the money.

Great Course Great value
Hidden Gem in the suburbs of Detroit. Great course to play on the way home from work. Greens can be slicker then snot. Some holes allow for a big driver to reach a par 4 in one shot. Monster # 13 is no joke for a pro or armature.

Unprofessional
They weren’t open when I showed up and since I booked it through a “hot deal” I had already played for a round that I couldn’t even play. Will not try to play here again and this experience has made me rethink the use of the gold nkw system.

Sub-par golfer
Course is nice a few difficult holes. Plays rather short. Greens have a lot of activity on them

Horrible
Course was horrible, over priced, and we were pushed to play fast because of an outing that teed off an hour after us . Over grown rough, doesn’t even look like they make an attempt to keep the course in shape .
