Great course but a few gimmicky holes.
First time playing this course on 10/24/23. The staff was excellent, and facility was awesome. Overall, the course was in great shape and picturesque (as advertised). Played from Black tees 6547 yds. Conditions were cool and a little windy. The rough next to fairways and greens was little longer than I was used to but still very playable. Most par 4's and 5's had spacious landing area for tee shots, but getting GIR's was tough as some were totally blind (#12 par 3). A few holes did require moderate carries off the tee, but I thought were appropriate for the tee skill level. Greens were very fast and had much topography, combined with tough pin placements resulted in a few 3 putts (ouch!). Most importantly, even on a cool October day, the beer cart came around at least 4 times on our round. Due to the layout and hilly terrain, I thought a few of the short holes were gimmicky in nature to prevent easier play. I would play there again if I can get another hot deal, but I would not pay to play at regular price.
Front 9 pace was good. But the back 9, went 3+hours to play. I wish the ranger told the outing to pickup the pace of play. When we arrived at 18th tee off there were 3 whole groups waiting to tee off. Had to wait about 30 minutes to tee off the 18th.
No ranger, not 5 star in my book anymore, cart ran out of juice
First played your back in 1995 when they first open because it was a five star cores rated by golf digest. Wish I used to subscribe to back in the day, and of course .I first played your back in 1995 when they first open because it was a five star course rated by golf digest, which I used to subscribe to back in the day, and of course one tiger was at his peak. And I still remember paying actually $45 to play that course back then 28 years ago so when I get a deal and pay $46 and today’s day and age in 2023 it is a great value so don’t get me wrong it is a great value compared to what somebody’s other low and courses are charging nowadays you just have to buy your Greens fees on tee off or golf now. The course is still just as nice as ever except the sand traps are not raked like they used to be and it does get a lot of plays so yeah I don’t remember as much as I played it only two years ago and I do remember there are a lot of elevated greens so I played the weights which is really only comes out so I think 5700 yards so I was hitting a lot of wedges into the greens so that end of it is , not the most challenging, but yeah, shooting an 83 at my age is pretty good. I was happy with that we got caught up behind couple old people that were holding things up on the front line. Thankfully they quit after the front nine I played Tony Moore couple months ago I do like the the woods and the tree lines here but toy more I guess has a little bit better overall when I pay over $100 no I just don’t have that kind of money but for $46 it was a fantastic value so anyway thanks for being on tee off and it’s really kind of neat. It’s right near all the Amish people up there and you get to see them harvesting and then you go play a really nice course and all those lakes there are pretty so anyway yeah thanks again my car just about ran out of juice a Young Inn brought a new one out. He didn’t smile much but anyway, the old lady behind the counter. It’s not the friendliest either so anyway we’ll be back it’s worth it.
Slow
Slow pace of play , no ranger to keep things moving. Sand traps should be way nicer than they are for this much money.
Absolutely Incredible
This is by far the best course I’ve ever played. We played 4 different courses while in Michigan and this was not the most expensive but was by FAR the favorite of our group. The only bad part was how fast we flew through the course. The whole staff was welcoming and great. The starter was super nice and pleasant to speak with. Could never recommend this course enough.
The front and back nine are so different from each other and act as a perfect yin and yang. The beautiful mature woods of the front nine compliment the water centric back nine so perfectly. 10/10 course.
Top 100?
First of all.. c’mon fix your ball marks people!
There is a ton to like about this course. Lovely layout on huge property. Our midweek 1 pm tee time allowed us to play alone (my wife appreciates that) and no time pressure.
The course layout is strange. I hit my driver on number one and two then didn’t see it for next four holes. That kinda messed with my head a little. Two interesting par 4s and two par 3s in a row. Interesting sure, but kinda felt unsatisfying.
The condition of the course was fine but not spectacular. Pilgrim’s Run just a little south is cheaper and better condition. The sand traps needed sand. The fairways were a little less than spectacular. I never had that feeling I needed to take a picture from the t box.
The greens are all well protected by sand and water. Challenging and fun! Greens were fast and consistent.
I recommend trying Pilgrims Run and making your own decision which course “just north of Grand Rapids” is better. Better yet save up and pray for a tee time and play Arcadia Bluffs. The best course I’ve EVER played!
Just as awesome as it ever was even better when you only pay 38 bucks for two guys on tee off with all my points
I played here two years ago after I found a great deal on TeeOff and after finding out that I had several almost 2000 points and it was worth over $100 me and my buddy came up and paid for $38. Can you believe that $19 each a Tullymore! Course is in just as great of shape as it has ever been. The starters and rangers are nice old gentleman. Peso play was OK and I just love those white sand traps in the course conditions that you’re playing on. Supposedly a top 100 in the country certainly a top 10 in Michigan , I just want stuff to the plate and pay well over $100 for a round of golf. It’s not gonna happen but golf now tee off made it affordable for us and I got to show my buddy a great course I got the feel with the rich people feel like with $1 million clubhouses and so forth do you do want to choose the right tees because from the tips, it’s a nasty 150 slope rating replayed the blue and white combo which was about 6000 yards. I don’t know what the slope rating was but it was just perfect and we scored well and enjoyed ourselves my buddy really enjoyed his time up there.
Don’t go on the weekend.
This place is beautiful. Every hole you need to be strategic with your shots. But when your taking a shot every 20 minutes it makes it difficult to get into a flow. Pace of play was horrible. I didn’t even play the last 3 holes.
New Favorite Course
The condition of the course was the best I've played on this year. Greens were outstanding! Tullymore Golf Course met and surpassed expectations.
A perfect course
This course was well maintained. The maintenance crew were very friendly when I got lost, the car girl was funny and wonderful to talk to, and the food at the clubhouse was perfect. If I could rate this course, I’d rate it a 10 out of 10.
Good course need to get better pace of play
Great course amazing shape but only played 11 holes do to it being so slow. Even being a single 9 holes took almost 3 hours and never get held up until hole 6 took almost 2 hours to play holes 6 thru 9 . then 3 group backup on 12 so called it. Shouldnt happen at a course this nice.
Great course.
Great course but the staff could be a little friendlier.
AMAZING COURSE
I’ve waited 20 years to play this course and my wait was well worth it!!! I first heard about this course in 2003!
Fantastic
Very friendly staff, smooth carts ,beautiful course, lost a ton of balls but had a great time.
aerated greens, tee to green was great
First time playing Tullymire. The greens were full of aerated holes. That being the case, I could enjoy this great course to the fullest.
I was paid discount prit about half the normal price, and had half the experience of a great course.
