If you have 5-6 hours to waste
Extremely slow play. Large groups that took their time.
Tough little course
Overall this was a solid little course with some challenging holes. The back 9 was extremely challenging, especially playing it for the first time. I think I hit 4 under on the front and 7 over on the back. The greens were also ridiculously hard for some reason on the day I played; however, my friends I played with said that is usually not the case. The food and beverage girls were extremely nice and so was the rest of the staff.
I think the course conditions could get a little better, particularly the greens and tee boxes. But overall it was a pretty decent course.
Usually a nice course
Have played union hills many times and has always been a good experience. But this time was just ok. They're having a problem with a lot of their greens. Bare spots and weeds. If booked as a hot deal still a good value.
Great value
This course has a fairly easy front 9 but a much tougher back. In fairly good shape and easy to get a round in reasonable time.
Condition lacking!
Many fairways were near bare, especially on the front nine. Greens were rolling slow and had a bunch of debris on them. Expected better but got a very good price with a 'hot deal'. Would play again at that rate.
1st time
I am a newbie, played w/ 3 experienced coworkers. Great price from GOLFNOW, $21. on a Sunday A.M.. Staff friendly & helpful. Course condition very good. My partners were all also impressed. Only down side, no refreshment cart after 1pm. Very enjoyable experience. The union way ;-)
Course is great for the average and good golfer alike
The course is in good condition and is forgiving enough is part and very challanging to. Theses greens are great and hold the ball well. UNION hills is one of my favorites and is priced right!
great course for just about anything
had a great time on 4th of july. rate of play was fast. and staff was friendly
Union Hills
We played behind several foursome groups...their pace of play was super slow. Over 5 hour round!
The course has several uphill holes which make the course longer and more difficult. This course is not for short hitters or for beginners. I like the course, especially in the spring when you can pay $20-$30 for 18 holes.
Much Improvement made
I've been playing at this course since it was private several years ago. There has been a big turn around in the level of service at the clubhouse. Also it appears the greens are now being maintained properly, and this is where I have seen the biggest improvement. Rough was very thick and long. Good overall condition & pace of play. Worth a 25 min drive any day!
Great course.
I was invited to play a scramble here later this year. I've never been before, so thought I would go check it out. Some of the reviews had me worried, but now, I thank those people for lowering my expectations.
I had a great time and enjoyed the course. It was in great condition, and while its too far away for me to play often, I'm looking forward to going back again.
Quality has suffered
The course was in much better condition when ran by the teamsters. Greens and fairways need a lot of help. The rough is truly rough that isn't hardly cut.
Great shape
Course was in great shape for early in the season. It was a rainy/cloudy day so nobody on course with us for the most part. For the $16 a person on the hot deal this course was def worth it, great value.
staff very friendly
Grass was a little high and they just sanded the greens but overall good experience
excellent value
For Spring The Course Was in good shape. Yes the bunkers had even been raked. I have been paying more fore much less. Oh and as a kicker I played by myself in 2 hours 45 min at 1 on a saturday.
This course had a lot of elevation
The course has a nice look. A lot of fun holes. The greens are a little slow but healthy.
Worth the drive
Straight down 55 x 20 minutes from 270 easy . don't let the front nine fool you be ready for the back nine
We really enjoyed our round of golf!
Glenn and I golfed at Union Hills Golf Course for the first time on Sunday. We both enjoyed ourselves very much. The staff who welcomed us, were very friendly! We actuall hit it rich by playing on "Customer Appreciation Day!" Free food and beverages for the day :-) The course itself was very enjoyable, and challenging. There were some spots where it was rough around the edges...but overall, it offered beauty, challenges and a great round of golf. The greens were in great shape...the fairways in good shape...and most tee boxes were in good shape as well. Great scenery, beautiful weather and friendly customer service = a fabulous day!
Fun and friendly
The Marshall was the nicest I've ever dealt with, tried to keep play moving and was very friendly
First Time
Great Course for the area and value. Front nine was cart path only due to rain. Carts and cart paths need a lot of attention. Course was in excellant condition with a number of challenging holes especially the Par 3s. Normal play for myself and my partner are 3 - 31/2 hours.
