Course is destroyed

I stayed at Villa recently with my golf league, this was our fourth visit since 2011. Many greens had either fungus damage or just neglect. Your putts did not roll they bounced. Many of the fairways had no grass and and you had to move your ball 20-30 yards to play off even a small patch of grass. The fairways were just plain neglected and had not been watered by staff in a very long time. A pro shop staffer stated the course was being sold and no money was being spent by ownership to improve the course. I contacted the General Manager and requested at least a partial refund which he refused to do. I asked him why we were not notified of the conditions when we booked the FOUR day package and he had no reply. It will take years for this course to be repaired, stay away far far away!!

Best golf in Sullivan county

I have played this course many times throughout the years
Matt and Staff consistently keep it pristine and fun place to enjoy mountain golf, which can be difficult considering the harsh winters and the challenges of mountain terrains. The greens are fast and mostly flawless and the layout is challenging without being to difficult. If you love a nice round of golf surrounded by lush landscapes put the Villa on your bucket list of courses to experience the next time you visit Sullivan county and the surrounding area..

Staff needs Training

This course has enormous potential. The surroundings are beautiful and course is nicely laid out. It has a nice range of difficulty mixed in with a few less challenging/ more fun holes. The only problem here is the staff. They are just plain rude from the pro on down, with the exception of the clubhouse bartenders. The owner should consider replacing the staff or, at least, doing some intense customer service training.

This is a great course

We have played this "new" course sinced it opened in 1986. We look forward every year to playing this course when we visit Villa Roma during the end of September. It can be a very easy/friendly course from the white tees and a real challange from the blues and black. It is always in great shape and very well maintained. During the fall it has a wonderful view of the changing foliage.
The staff are friendly and many of them have been there since 1986. They make my wife (playing reds) and I feel welcome every year we show up.
