Pet dye not his best

Old school fun
Great classic track. Course knowledge would help. Avoid the trees! :-)
Should be better
This is a semiprivate country club, it should be better. On Sunday, no cart persons delivering hydration (it was 90+). The shack at the turn was not open. No water was available on the course.
Some greens has been punched, some had not. Some fairways were good, some burned, some water logged. Greens were in terrible shape. Frankly, no respect from the people playing them. Cant blame the course fully for that. Although, a marshall can enforce the rules if they are out and about.
I expected more from Buhl. I was considering joining, but after this round I dont think it is worth the cost.
Not quite worth the $
Played on the afternoon of club championship day so the staff advised of the tough pin locations. That was fun. They also advised of diseased greens on #1 & #12 but said the rest of the course was in good shape. That wasn’t entirely the case with plenty of subpar conditions on additional greens. Overall the rest of the course was in good shape, the staff was great across the board and the layout is solid. Just wasn’t quite worth the $75 price tag imo.
Jammed up all afternoon
The course is in poor at best shape. Pace of play is horrendous! No food at the turn. This is a $30/round course not a $90/ round coursei
The good the bad and the ugly
This could be a great place to play. However there are some issues, both good and bad. The good being it was wide open both in terms of play and the course itself. It’s a pretty easy course to score. However, on a weekend, no cart girls, no shack open at the turn. This doesn’t make much sense for a club that charges essentially private non equity club level fees. Additionally some of the tee boxes and greens were experiencing some serious disease.
Great course
Great course great staff. Greens nice and fast like I like them
Beautiful Classic Course
This was out first stop on our Penn-Ohio Golf Trail weekend. What a beautiful place. The Avalon folks did a great job to this venerable old CC.
It was a hot and humid afternoon but the greens were soft (thank goodness). With the exception of the 2ns par 5 on the front (and no 1 hdcp) 17 of the 18 greens slope back to front, and if you didn't hold your shot to the front of the green it would roll off.
Restaurant, bar and cigar bar were first rate as was every member of the staff we encountered.
(Cost of round above is an estimate as it was included in a 3 day 2 night package)
Old School Stanley Thompson Course
One of the few public Stanley Thompson courses you can play in the country let alone Ohio. Ives the layout, the old school, large built-up greens. Conditions were perfect. This is a must play for the fan of top notch public golf in Ohio.
Course offers a membership with two other courses: Buhl Park and another.
Solid Tom Bendelow Course
Solid old school Tom Bendelow golf course. Course is routed over flat terrain and has built up greens. Greens and bunkering were the highlight of the round.
Very good course conditions as it is part of a multiple country clubs. Solid course.
Great Course!
Course was in great condition, greens were awesome. Pace of play could have been somewhat quicker
All you would expect from Pete Dye and more
Solid Dye course with a Tim Liddy redo. Course is quite flat, but makes up for this with strategic bunkering, use of water and fast / undulating greens. A must play for the Pete Dye fan.
A Tilly Gem
Terrific A W Tillinghast course that is no longer completely private and allows some public play. Course has a tremendous layout that takes full advantage of the rolling terrain and creek that runs through the property. The fifth hole has to be seen to believe. Course is well worth your time and effort to play.
