About Pocono Manor Resort & Spa
Life changed at Pocono Manor on Nov. 1, 2019, when a fire ripped through the historic inn, causing significant damage that's led to an ongoing closure. Although there are plans to renovate and rebuild, only the golf course is currently open. Currently, golfers looking to stay and play the historic course can book accommodations at nearby partner properties through the resort website. There is food available in the clubhouse.Facts

POCONO MANOR EAST
VERY HILLY COURSE. THAT STAFF WAS VERY POLITE & COURTEOUS.
this course is something
Well if you are looking to go and enjoy a round of 18 for 20 this is not the right place to go. The course was not adequate to all of the courses i have visited, poor greens, soft wet ground on a dry day and worst of all the putting surface is filled with holes, there was a shooting range within 100 feet of the first through fourth hole, in which added a large amount of frustration. But one good thing is the staff every single person who worked there greeted me in a friendly professional way, they were all very nice. Overall this is not a course that Iwould revisit sometime
nice course
Very interesting course with some easy and difficult holes. lots. Of fun. To play
Unexpected played multiple times
Excellent course. Liked it so much that I decided to stay two nights at "The Inn" hotel and played another 72 holes for two and half days. Great views and challenging course designs. Highly recommended.
A good time at a beautiful course
Had a great time at a beautiful challenging course. Everything about the facility was perfect. Everyone that worked there was courteous and friendly. The only thing that would have made it better was if I was a better golfer.
Quirky course with unusual holes
This was an unusual course with many blind holes and steep elevation changes, on the day we played a modified set up using hole 1, 2 and 18 from the west course and 1-15 of east course, all greens had been recently aerated and were heavily sanded making putting difficult. All holes had very small round greens. We paid only 25.00 a person but based on conditions that's about what it was worth. They are obviously working to improve the course, we may try this again next year to see how far they get.
Best course condition in my memory
Played on Fri. @ 2PM as a twosome, behind a twosome, and in front of same. Round took 3.5 hours and recent improvements and course condition made for a delightful experience. Course still has some rough spots especially in regard to cart paths. Surprisingly well maintained. Very slow greens. Quirky and recommended!
Pocono Manor
Overall, nice course with some greens issues. The Pro Shop staff was friendly. The course was in very good condition after a significant rainfall 18 hrs prior. Only issue was that at least two of the greens were in bad shape. Interesting holes; wide fairways throughout. Suggestion: installing some bells on the sloping holes would be helpful for the foursome behind to know when it's OK to tee off.
Nice day out
some of the greens were in poor shape. overall, the course was in good shape. lots of elevation changes and blind shots to keep it interesting.
Not a good day.
Over booking, poor greens and slow play , Took six hrs. Played here before was never like this.
Getting Better
Greens need work, a few are unplayable. Classic fun layout but blind shots will add strokes to the inexperienced.
Good price
The greens were in fair shape. No complaints due to how inexpensive it was. Also there is construction nearby which may have affected the course conditions
Mountanin Golfing
The scenery is breathtaking, and the course is the opposite of flat. The changing elevations and the lack of a flat lie contribute to the challenge. On the positive side, there is little to no water and very few sand traps. Paired up with another twosome and had a great time.
couldn't be slower
Course was still soaked from rain 2 days earlier. No ranger on course moving people along. A 5+ hour round is unacceptable.
Very slow
Took 5 and a half hours to play for 2 people, no ranger to help pace of play
Pocono Manor - East
Nice layout as holes are spread apart. The first two par 3's are interesting as blind shots to the green. Greens overall were not mowed and in poor condition. Water and Sand doesn't really exist. Tight fairways with woods lining both sides on most holes. I was not impressed with overall condition of course, but thought the back 9 was in better shape than the front. The price of $15/person on Golf Now was the true benefit of this outing. Not sure I would go back as the area offers much nicer courses for a few more bucks.
Challenging Course
Challenging Course but fun to play. Going along with the USGA "Play It Forward" we always play the up tees. We have found it makes the game more in reach of lower scores but the one thing we also learned is, you still have to make good golf shots no matter what tees you play from. So the macho thing does not apply.
This is a hilly course with fairways that slopes right and left along with a couple of dog legs. The signature hole is the par 3 seventh which is 77 yards but plays as 35 yards because it is almost straight down from a hilltop.
BTW, there is no longer a West course as of 2014 - They are building a ginormous Kalahari Water Park up there and the West Course was sacrificed to give the water park the land to spread out.
Bad shape..
Greens are terrible. There's 3 holes you can't even play on East course because of diseased greens. They start you out on West course, which has been closed. The 3 holes you play to make up for the 3 you'll miss are in bad shape themselves. It wasn't really a good experience. Playing at a course like this just doesn't make you any better..
The manor
The greens were not in good shape and the course hasn't been well kept for a few years its a disappointment to those of us who used to love going there!
course was great for the cost
The course was nice the greens were what you would expect from a middle public course. When you tee off on one don't let the skeet shooting that goes on just to your left bother you.
