La Cantera Resort

This course was in great shape with an amazing layout. The only negative was pace of play. We had a group of five that were playing from the wrong tees for their skill level. It took just short of five hours. I wish the course marshal would have sped them up. It was still a great course!

overall, Otero is a good golf course with friendly staff and a good pace of play

can't ask for more

Incredible experience! Staff very friendly and course in prestine condition. Highly recommend. Will definitely be back.

This course has such a beautiful and challenging layout in addition to its scenic views. We had a blast at this course and will definitely be back to play it again !

We were put behind a slow group that took 30 min on hole #1. We passed them on hole 2 only to run into a threesome that we’re playing back tees and looking for balls every hole. They had 1 guy in basketball shorts & a tee shirt who kept parking his cart in the middle of fairway so asking to play through while they liked for lost balls wasn’t an option. On top of that once we thought the tee or fairway was clear they would stop with the cart girl instead of getting out of the way and make a purchase. Excruciatingly slow round. The rough was also not consistent as some areas were super thick and overly fluffy inches off the fairway yet mowed and thinner in various sections so you never knew what you were getting from hole to hole. Greens were great and bunkers were very nice. Tee times are way too stacked and there was not a hole where there was not 3-4 groups on a single hole.

Very challenging and good golf course. Highly recommended.

After paying $177 to play 18 holes, I had to pay an additional $38 for my wife to ride around with me. Not like they were short on carts due to fact there were only maybe a dozen people playing. Hardly saw anyone on the course. Not worth $215 for a round at an old resort.

The course is in great shape. It is a great and tough track. I was pleased with the course. The pace of play was SLOW, nearly 5 hour round! This is not what I expected for this caliber of a course.

Greens were outstanding and the course was in magnificent shape for late August. Pace was a little slow and marshall was no help.

Really nice layout. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. Only critique is a lot of ongoing maintenance and machinery noises while we were playing. But that tells you they take care of the course!

During my last round on 8-19-2024 Monday 8:30am tee time.I was very disappointed with the way the starter handled my request to move up my tee time. The course was wide open, with very few players ahead of me, so I asked if I could move my tee time up( just 20 minutes ahead of my tee time), something I've done many times in the past when the course isn't busy. But this time, both the starter and the pro shop staff member claimed that because my tee time was booked as a 'Hot Deal' on GolfNow, it couldn’t be moved. Their attitude was dismissive, and they offered no flexibility, which was surprising given my history of playing here.In all the years I've played here, the staff has always been flexible and willing to move up my tee time when the course was quiet, regardless of how I booked. This new, rigid stance felt unfair and out of line with the excellent service I've come to expect from this course. I left the course at 8:10am( didn’t play). It's unfortunate when loyal customers are treated with such inflexibility, especially when the course is not busy.
