Scenic Course
Very nice course I believe for the area. The water hazards and granite out croppings made for a nice change of scenery.
If you have your own gps ( I do not yet ) it would be advantageous to bring it as there were not enough yardage markers in my opinion.
Other than that, it was a great course.
GREAT COURSE
COURSE IS IN GREAT SHAPE AND IS EVERY TIME I PLAY THERE. NOT A BETTER COURSE OUT THERE FOR THE MONEY
SLOW!!!!
Our tee time was 1:21pm. We were right behind two five team groups playing a scramble. The first group moved at a fair pace the second group we were behind was very, very, slow. WE played golf four straight days and the other three experiences were great, not this one.
I will not take friends to play here in the future.
My personal opinion there should never be more than four players in any group and this is why.
had to leave austin to play a decent course
Had a great hot deal so made the 1 hr drive here. Tee d off at 748. Got to #2 3 some waved me on( dying trait in Austin golf scene!) 2hrs 13 minutes later done. Nice shape excellent greens very friendly staff.
A Hidden Gem
I played one week after the storms of May 2015. 5 holes were closed due to lightning knocking out the irrigation, but I really enjoyed this course.
It is very well maintained. The bunkers were in pristine condition and the ground staff do a great job. Nice greens, nice fairways and $35 for 18 holes. Great views and it is a challenging course. Not overly long, but you need to be straight off the tee.
Highly recommended.
Beautiful Course - Lots of Water!
Freindly staff, well maintianed course with lots of water and sand to keep you on your toes. The rough is the rough...you won't find your ball if you're in it!
Interesting golf course with granite formation.
Interesting golf course with great greens and great fairways. Course conditions were quite good. You could not ask for any better for Texas since the last few years have been very dry. Staff is friendly. Carts are good. The golf carts don't shake you a round like some others.
Awesome course
Very pleased with greens and fairways.
The couse is a Hill Country Gem.
Fantastic course
I drive out from Austin sometimes twice a month to play this gem.
Was given a "birthday" round over at Legends...a huge waste of $$$ compared to Light House.
Since I've been coming out to Light House I've yet to find the course in bad condition no matter the time of year. This course is in better condition than 80% of the courses here in Austin and even with the expense to drive to Kingsland, it is STILL a much better value. And the scenic views puts this course right at the top.
The fairways and greens are always in terrific shape...
This will continue to be my "Go To" course when I need a guarantee of a fantastic course for my $$$.
Fun course, worth the travel and value was good
This course is a bit out of town, but we enjoyed the day. Nice track with great views of the hill country.
A Nice Break from surrounding Courses
Some interesting green placements, some challenging terrain. Not a wide open-huge green course.
Greens are in great shape
I really enjoy playing this course. It has a very nice layout and the greens are in great shape. Has several very challenging holes.
Lighthouse
Decent shape for early spring in Texas. Greens were in good condition.
greens
Very well maintained!
This was a great course and very well kept. The scenery was beautiful and I felt that the course was very well laid out . I will most definitely play here again!
great layout
Greens good shape slower than usual and excellent overall layout needs more distance reference app does not clarify danger definitely have to play to appreciate
The course
Very good challenging course with great friendly staff
great winter golf
A really fun golf course. We all had a really good time , even though the weather was not good. The course condition helped us forget the cold.
Nice course/Nice layout
Played Lighthouse on 2/4/15. Fastest round I've ever played. Played as a single in 2 1/2 hours. Didn't catch up to anyone till the 15th hole and they waved me through. I thought the layout of the course was great. Everything is brown, greens included but that's to be expected because of the time of year and the grass being dormant. In no way did it affect my game as I shot a 79 from the blues. Greens are quick but fair. Enjoyed it so much I'm returning this Saturday with my son and two of his friends. Didn't have a chance to enjoy the dining room or tavern after the round but I will when we finish on Saturday. I'll be playing here a lot more in the future and can't wait to see the course when it's greener. We live about 50 minutes away in Liberty Hill but this course is well worth the trip.
great course
Always enjoy playing at Lighthouse. The course is in great shape especially given it's the winter and we had a week of wet weather recently. The staff makes this the stand out golf experience in the area. They're glad to be there and they're glad you're there as well. I'm not a member and they know my name.
The wheels came off my game on the front nine. Scott, gave me a swing thought to fight through the bad spell and the back nine was better... much better. Never been to a course with such a kind caring staff.
Good value
Greens are not as good as they have been in the Past. Pace of play was ridiculous. Radom grouping 5,3,2, and I even saw a single out there.
