About

Located in the town of Kingsland on the shores of Lake LBJ, Lighthouse Country Club features 18 holes set in a charming, hill country in the heart of the Highland Lakes. The course was originally built in 1968, winds through scenic Hill Country property full of oak trees and red granite rock outcroppings. From many points, Packsaddle Mountain, one of the Hill Country's highest points, is in view from many spots on the course.

Lighthouse was formerly named Packsaddle Golf Club until the name changed in the fall of 2011 when new owners Rick & Mercy Howe purchased the bankrupt property and revitalized the golf course. Part of the enhancement was the construction of a brand new lighthouse at the clubhouse. In addition on on-course enhancements, Lighthouse constructed a handful of two-bedroom condos for stay-and-play packages and longer term winter homes.

In addition to the golf course, the facility also features a driving range, short game area and a full restaurant, bar and banquet facility.

Sneaky Hard

First of all the staff was super friendly and we were greated well upon our arrival. Course was in excellent shape, greens were pure silk on this day at least. Once they dried they were fast! Love it and will play there again and again and again!!

Another good day.

Course was in good shape. Fairways were very firm as were the green making for long drives but difficulty stopping the ball on the green. Challenging but fun.

Nice Course, great value

The greens were great, fairways were nice. There are some blind tee shots and obstacles that are hard to see that can catch you by surprise if you haven't played here.

Greens in great shape, tanks are not full which takes away from "look" of some holes but I always enjoy my round at Lighthouse! Considerate and good mood staff when I arrived set good vibe for round! Carts in good shape and seems they are always making improvements. Some cart paths are bumpy but thats only when on crushed granite parts of the paths.

Still Hot in the Hill Country

Despite the heat and ongoing drought conditions, the course was in real good shape. Fairways were green and well maintained, and the greens were smooth and fast. The breeze and a few clouds made our afternoon round very enjoyable.

Good Course Conditions/Slow Play

Course was in really good shape. Staff was friendly.

Took close to 5 hours to play 18 holes. 2-3 groups backed up on some tee boxes.

There’s no GPS in the carts, no fairway yardage stakes or yardages on sprinkler heads so make sure you have a range finder or personal golf GPS. There’s lots of blind shots so a personal GPS with a course layout would be ideal.

Thisc ourse has come a long way in the last 3 years I've been playing it. Course was in great shape considering the lack of rain. The clubhouse remodel looks good. The word seems to be out, so long hidden gem.

Best Bargain for playing on a good course

Lighthouse is a hidden gem of a course in the Texas Hill Country. The course is in great shape with all the spring rains. Greens have been undergoing turf improvements in the spring and they are in excellent shape now. The fairways are in great shape but starting to dry out a bit in spots with the 100 degree weather in August which is the case in most central texas courses. The staff are courteous including the grounds crew who are always polite. The have a great driving range and chipping and putting greens.
