Lighthouse Country Club
About
Located in the town of Kingsland on the shores of Lake LBJ, Lighthouse Country Club features 18 holes set in a charming, hill country in the heart of the Highland Lakes. The course was originally built in 1968, winds through scenic Hill Country property full of oak trees and red granite rock outcroppings. From many points, Packsaddle Mountain, one of the Hill Country's highest points, is in view from many spots on the course.
Lighthouse was formerly named Packsaddle Golf Club until the name changed in the fall of 2011 when new owners Rick & Mercy Howe purchased the bankrupt property and revitalized the golf course. Part of the enhancement was the construction of a brand new lighthouse at the clubhouse. In addition on on-course enhancements, Lighthouse constructed a handful of two-bedroom condos for stay-and-play packages and longer term winter homes.
In addition to the golf course, the facility also features a driving range, short game area and a full restaurant, bar and banquet facility.

Golfer Reviews
Great Course
This is my favorite course. Beautiful scenery and the course is in great shape.
My only request is for someone to fill the ball washers up with water. Everyone of them are bone dry.
Best Bargain for playing on a good course
Lighthouse is a hidden gem of a course in the Texas Hill Country. The course is in great shape with all the spring rains. Greens have been undergoing turf improvements in the spring and they are in excellent shape now. The fairways are in great shape but starting to dry out a bit in spots with the 100 degree weather in August which is the case in most central texas courses. The staff are courteous including the grounds crew who are always polite. The have a great driving range and chipping and putting greens.
Lighthouse National
The course was in great condition today, the greens were just punched, but were in great condition as well.
Lighthouse
Pace of play was great because it was so hot .
Finished in 3hours and was taking my time .
Greens recently punched but still fine .
Nice wide fairways with grass.
Can't rate the amenities because cafe is closed on Wednesday. Got a hot deal so I was happy .
Had to spend $25 on a hat because I forgot mine .
Just gets better and better
Great hill country course for all levels. Amazing staff - Daniel & Doug are outstanding. Water available on the course - nicely outfitted club house with refreshments and light food items. Course is so much fun to play. Pace is good - greens are good and the new greenskeeper will make them even more so. What’s not to like.
Wonderful course
Very fun and engagiing course - great staff (Daniel and Doug) - fun holes - water on the course - smooth flow to the round - greens putt well - carts work smoothly - what's not to like.
New Sand!
My biggest complaint was that theere was no sand in the traps, only rocks and crushed granite. It looks like they added 1" of sand to the ones I was near and hopefully they will add more but overall, a great experience.
Fun time at Lighthouse
Always enjoy playing Lighthouse, nothing but positive!@
Awesome Pro Shop
As a younger golfer you often get misjudged when walking into a golf course. Whether you know the unwritten rules, pace of play, or if you’re going to not jack around and respect the course. I’ve been treated with a slight disrespect because of judgement from past golf courses when I walk in, however this pro shop is awesome people with genuine love for the game looking for anyone coming to have a good time. Love the tall guy with the white beard super upbeat guy! Highly recommend.
Terrified course
Daniel & Doug welcome you upon entry to the recently redesigned club house and they are very friendly and helpful in getting you off timely. Nice fun & challenging course. Water on course is a bonus in summer months. Highly recommend Lighthouse. You won’t be disappointed.
Great layout but the greens were cut wrong and there's deep edges cut in some of them especially hole 9
I love this course it has water and most par 4s you have to drive. The downside id the Sandra's are not sand they are more like pea gravel or crushed granite. Its horrible. You almost have to take a drop or you'll ruin your clubs.
The people there are very nice. The workers in the past would not even move when they were in your way but they rectified that. The clubhouse had to be rebuilt and is now open which is nice. Now I hope they invest in real sand.
Could be better
First staff was very friendly. Fairways in great shape. Course layout is super fun with a lot of challenging holes
The only bad rating I would give are the greens every green had brown or burn spots in them for as nice as the fairways are please fix the greens I would play the course again just for the staff and layout but please get the greens fixed and this would be an amazing course
**Need to have a Marshal on the course to speed up pace of play. We were a 2some stuck behind beginner golfers taking forever on each hole. They would not let us pass them.
**Sime of the greens are getting in bad shape with fungus or burning up.
Nice course
Fun to play - great layout - water on course is helpful in hot weather - will play for all levels. Greens are nice but would be nicer if they were a bit smoother. Thank you. Staff are outstanding!
Love this course!
Lighthouse is a great course to play with many challenging holes. It’s a bargain when using Golf Now.
